I got it some time ago thanks to your review. I live in Mexico and here the fightsticks are way more expensive. For example this one is usually around 90 dollars here and importing it is no good chioice due to taxes. I saw this one in offer, wich means it's original US price (60 dollars), looked for info and after I saw this video, bought it immediately. And up to date, I have no regrets. Even, recently I got a Neogeo Aracade Stick Pro and the F300 works on it too. Keep doing this great work man. I have also saw your tutorials on fightstick use and fighting games and I've improved a lot thanks to you. Definitely the best channel on this subject.

I think the upgradability is good for people who aren't sure if they want a stick at all, get this one and try it for a few weeks/months/a year and then realise they've really gotten into the scene and don't want to buy another stick. Equally they may stay with the original parts and be happy with that for years. It's a good compromise; a good stick for cheap with the added bonus of being able to scratch the upgrade itch in the future. But I agree, there's no point getting this thinking it makes a good base for upgrading right away.

I'm about to buy my first arcade stick. I was recently involved playing Fighcade last year, and I wanted to have a fighting stick since I'm not used to play with mechanical keyboards. F300 was my first option aside, and planning to upgrade to sanwa. Since you mention it won't be worth it to upgrade this one, I also consider the size of it, since I want it to be minimal, and not space consuming ( I also consider Hori Fighting Stick mini but its just to casual and non up-gradable.). But still, I might just gonna use it for a year or 2, then if I feel wanting to upgrade, I think I will have enough money to buy some parts after a year or two. Thank you for your review I really appreciate the eye opener for upgrading this unit. GG bro.

Thank you for always being so supportive 🙏, it is such a good stick tho, i am very impressive by just the default parts. I think it is better than the qanba drone stick. The drone looks alittle better and has cable management, but this one works with everything, which is insane value.
@Douphipp4555 жыл бұрын
@@JoystickNY of course!! You have a great channel. The value of the mayflash should be understated by any means lol. I think the drone's joystick is a little bit better but I think it's because I like the gate on it. the mayf buttons are great, I actually put them in a diy hitbox as my attack buttons. the functionality for multiple platforms is definitely a huge bonus over the drone. I believe on the Mayflash website they sell a F300 with Sanwa parts (f500 also) as well.

Really great work, especially with the audio comparison. No other reviewer does that. I'd recommend perhaps mentioning the hand rest size, as I hear it's about half an inch too short, but I suppose you could get around that with angled resting. As far as the actual video goes, the echo was noticeable in the beginning. I'm not sure if that is by design.. It might actually give a more accurate joystick noise as opposed to an acoustically treated studio. Something to consider.
@JoystickNY5 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙏 great point, i totally forgot to mention about the hand rest, i was actually going to mention it before recording, i usually dont have a script when i record, its mostly straight off my head. Thank you for the reminder, and about the sound, good observation, for some reason i couldnt hear it when i was editing, let me rewatch the uploaded video later and check, also could be becuz i have 2 cameras rolling, maybe i forgot to mute one of the footage, you mean the echo makes the noise better ? Or a studio ? I didnt quite get that part ❤️
@MrTripcore5 жыл бұрын
It might be because of the 2 camera setup. It does sound like a natural empty room echo though. Arcade places that I know usually have a bit of echo because there's not really anything soft in them

Using the f300 as is without upgrading is a good idea. What think might be a better idea though is to use it as is until it becomes un-useable, and then upgrade with sanwa.. that way you get your moneys worth instead of upgrading it straight away.
@JoystickNY5 жыл бұрын
Yes 👍 i agree, thats what i usually tell everyone, never waste those parts, especially for a new player, those parts are good to break in and pratice, and people are usually more rough when they dont know how to use the stick yet, it is a great way to let u break in and not worry about breaking new parts. 👍
@lukestanley8204 жыл бұрын
so basically, save the higher quality parts for when it would actually matter because you would be used to the game and need them by then? also would extend the lifespan more cause you have more parts unlike f300 elite which comes with only the sanwa parts. One last thing, how much different do sanwa parts feel then the ones on here? Is the change in quality really big enough to warrant spending more money on better parts? Thanks for reading.

New subscriber here! I recently wanted to get into arcade sticks for fighting/2D retro style games and this one immediately caught my eye. Nice to see that it's pretty good overall for the price even without modding it (of course, based on your arcade parts brand comparison video, I'll still want to install some good Sanwa parts). I'm a big console collector with close to 20 consoles all hooked up so love that this stick can be used on so many different consoles. Add in some Brook adapters and it can even be used on retro consoles like the PC Engine, Genesis, Super Nintendo and Neo Geo (I'd prefer something that's new in box instead of paying premium for an average quality used AES or Bean controller). That's what I call flexibility! Kind of a bummer that you need to hook up an Xbox One controller to it, but I saw an adapter called Magicboots that's supposed to solve that problem. There's also one for PS4 I think. Looking forward to new content my dude, keep it up!

I have a switch, and i used the mayflash f300 elite with it, but the f300 should have the same pcb board so it should work with the switch also, it comes with a usb-c adaptor that plugs in to the switch, i have video of me playing on my instagram, if you want to check it out 😊🕹

Sanwa JLF lever = sensitivity. Sanwa buttons = oversensitivity . Hayabusa lever = oversensitivity. Hayabusa buttons = sensitivity. Korean levers = sensitivity. Korean buttons = not very responsive. Seimitsu parts (Lever and buttons) = not very responsive. And low quality parts (Lever and buttons) = not very responsive.

@@JoystickNY I would avoid most of the arcade stick controllers that require you to plug in a regular controller into them and stick with the ones that do not require you to plug in a regular controller into them. It's like plugging a Wii or Wii U arcade stick controller into a Wii Remote/Wii Remote Plus.

Always wanted an arcade stick. Now got back into Tekken after getting it on steam for 5 bucks and finally decided to buy an arcade stick (after my thumbs started hating me because of all the ewgf's I'm doing that just hurt on D-Pad). This video solidifies my purchase. Will arrive in two days and I can't wait to get started learning an arcade stick.

I found one of these used for $30 because the previous owner had botched a joystick upgrade -- so I did spend about $70 to upgrade to Sanwa stick and buttons, which brings it up to the cost of an Elite. If I hadn't gone with metallic finish plastic, it would have been less, but I wanted something flashy! It's become my favorite stick for PC fighters and MAME, but I also use it with PS4 games and a Raspberry Pi running Batocera -- it does a lot. If you are tempted to upgrade the parts (even though, he's right, you don't really need to), that process is very easy and, for me, customizing was fun!

Great review. I’m currently using an 8Bitdo N30 Arcade stick, modded with a Seimitsu stick and Sanwa buttons. Just got a Mayflash F101 and I’m about to mod it with Sanwa stick and buttons. Both for the Nintendo Switch but the Mayflash for the NEOGEO Mini as well. Got the NEOGEO colored buttons for it

After buying Guilty Gear Strive this past Friday (my 1st GG GAME),with May clearing stages 1-7 without losing then getting stuck on Nago 1win-33lose in arcade mode using my xbox one controller.I looked up arcade stick on Amazon and then looked for reviews on the Mayflash F300,I promptly ordered it after watching you're review it's been years since I had trouble with fighting games using a gamepad but with G.G.S doing dashes and overdrives with the thumb stick is tricky/hard, specifically diagonal motions,in the dojo and having a view of my controllers stick movement on screen showed that it's tricky with those specific moves.

I've just found your channel looking for some good quality / good price fightsticks and I think Im gonna buy this one thanks to your review. Would you say the f500 is better for the price compared to the f300? Or should I save up and get a hori real arcade pro for the switch I wish the hori worked on more than switch and pc and had custonizable art too
@JoystickNY4 жыл бұрын
For that price , i would go for the f300 elite, becuz when u buy the f500, u have to spend another 40$ eventually down the road, cuz those parts are basic parts, not sanwa, the f300 elite is all sanwa ❤️🙏

What is the size difference between this and the qanba drone and which one do you think is a better starter stick, also really enjoying your videos 👍 you are the reason I came back to fighting games 😀.
@JoystickNY4 жыл бұрын
Size is about the same, the qanba drone is thinner and feels smaller. Comfort i would say both are similar, the qanba drone is also lighter. The mayflash f300 has more rooms for future customizations., will make a video later on comparing them ❤️🙏

Just to say to anybody buying one of these for use with an Xbox Series S/X… it’s completely random if this will work with your console in my experience. You can follow all the steps, you can upgrade the firmware, I tried 3 separate sticks of the same make and model number and none of them worked on my Xbox. I know other people have got it to work but I couldn’t on mine. The stick I eventually bought is plug and play. Something to think about for the Xbox users out there.

@JoystickNY5 жыл бұрын
Daniel Pérez i havent tried the venom yet, but from what i have seen, the venom is better than this, the advantage of the mayflash f300 is that it supports many systems, the venom is only pc ps3 and ps4. Sorry. I have a question for this one, so, comparing this Mayflash f300 with f300 elite, that f300 elite (or f500 elite) have sanwa buttons but this doesn't? right? Thank you

Amelia 👍 correct, the elite has sanwa buttons and joystick lever. This one is just basic parts
@Amelia-pm6se4 жыл бұрын
JoyStickNY OK thank you so much! Also, so sorry but another question, is this Mayflash’s body the same size thickness as Hori Mini fighting stick? or it’s more thick than Hori Mini?
@JoystickNY4 жыл бұрын
Amelia i dont have the mini, but judging from videos and pictures, it seems like the mini is smaller and thinner, i dont recommend the mini, its not mod friendly
@Amelia-pm6se4 жыл бұрын
JoyStickNY I see. I’m actually using the Hori mini and I’ve been playing by putting a small pilow underneath the stick/on top of my lap and I realised it’s actually hard to play without the pillow despite its thin body Haha. So, I think I might consider to buy MF f300 elite. It looks so good though. And for sure it doesn’t have the USB cable connect/disconnect problem on PC/PS4, right? 🙏
@JoystickNY4 жыл бұрын
Amelia i am not sure about the connect disconnect, but you have to connect the the joystick to a ps4 controller as a bridge to use on the ps4. Same goes for xbox. I recommend just staying with the mini for now, practice on it, when the ps5 comes out, maybe use the money on new stuff
@BabusGameRoom2 жыл бұрын
Darn, $50? It sucks being a gamer in Canada. This is going for $120+ here! It's the same price as the 8bitdo (or ~$10 more?) here, so I guess that makes the decision easier. The Mayflash F101 and the Qanba Drone are ~$20 cheaper, but I'm guessing the performance of those don't hold up to the F300 or the 8bitdo Arcade Stick.

Johnny Nguyen in my opinion, if u mainly play on ps4, i would go for the qanba, i like the design of it and it has cable management.
