Regarding the last 2 bosses, I'm not sure why that you cannot end it with 0 on the clock but my guess is that those particular bosses use a special boss transition to allow a cutscene to play afterward. Because of that, the timer will just kill you when it reaches 0.

Bosses doesn't give 4000 points, they first give 2000, then 2000, then 4000, totaling 8000, and you would have to defeat 2 bosses, so it isn't worth it.

The answer to the question is the following: You can go to the red toad house (and if you want, check the pattern by going row by row and looking up that pattern) and get a propeller mushroom (No mini mushrooms for reasons he explains later) and do the momentum glitch and then use the propeller to get up to the top of the flagpole.

9:51 Your doing something very similar to what speedrunners do call, 5-4 Skip. A series of precise jumps allow you to beat the level without using the platform as it is much faster. For a consistent strategy, after you land on tbe last "?" block, run and jump and at the peak of your jump propeller into a little hole where enemies drop. If you start sliding or don't feel yourself land, do two wallkicks to get up the end. Finally, run across it jumping twice, and then once you fall, delay using your propeller until your low enough that the last falling bombomb does not hit you.
