Don't forget to pack the shaft seal with grease, very important. The grooves should be completely packed with grease.

@@appliancerepair420 not long after this repair it started throwing the same error. Had the local appliance folks out to take a look in case I had missed something. He said it needed a new transmission and to replace the washer. Well, we didn't I cleaned it up again and haven't had a problem since.

Not all metal inner tubs cpme out as easy as you show. A jack & 2 x 4 board may be needed. Id tape the lid shut because it's heavy and may damage the hinges and/or console if it falls. Did you clean the weeping hole located up top. It's below the seal on the wall of the inner liner tub? Must be clear! Did you lubricate the interior grooves of the seal? There's 2 grooves you put the lubricate in. You have to open them and put in the lube in those grooves. I'd put a little more silicone on the top of the seal where it meets the inner tub. Be sure seal fits flush with liner. Allow overnight for silicone to dry. Incidently I inspect stator center white plastic for cracks or other damage. Replace if damaged. You can use painters tape to hold that gray cover temporarily while you put stator on with bolts. Afterward remove tape. I assume you put blue threadlocker on shaft nut and only minimal hand torqued it. Because over torquing will bind the bearing causing bearings to wear quicker and it may throw a code. I put blue threadlocker on the Allen head bolt that holds on stator rotor cover. Torq the cover by hand tool only. Power tools risk damaging parts. I didn't see this part being done on video so I thought I'd mention these ideas. No disrespect intended.

Very appreciated. I notice you didn't use any of the grease in the reassembly...any thoughts on that? I used some around the circumference of both bearings, not sure if that was a good idea, but I figured it would help get them into their places with less risk of damaging where they seated. I also did smear some on the drive shaft where it would have contacted the aluminum sleeve/tube just as a precaution....thanks again man it was a big help!

Soak it with wd40. Let it sit. For a bit.

Do you know if the repair kit you used in this video (W10435302 and W10447783 Bearing and Tool Kit for Compatible with Whirlpool Washers) would also work for Maytag model MVWB950YGO? If not compatible, would you know the replacement part numbers?

Hello there, I changed the bearing because one of them was full of dirt = sound like a jet engine. My problem is now that the rotor (with the magnets) touch sometime the motor. Does anyone have any guess on what could I do?

This washer is a very good washer. Aside from it having issues with bearings. But that is due to people overloading it cue to it having a big tub.
