Very helpful. Thank you for sharing this KZbin, and your skills! I almost changed the clutch/transmission ($$$$) or the timer ($$$) but was not certain they were the problem. I did a little further search and found your KZbin. So glad I did. Changing the lid switch ($) was say following your directions. Thank you again. Bonus: I am golden in the eyes of my wife! woot woot woot!

I made the same setup but trying to recover refrigerant compressor keeps locking up and trips the internal breaker. It can do vacuum perfectly goes to 30” and builds pressure over 450 psi. But when trying to recover refrigerant it shuts off.

We have a similar Maytag which can only heat only for a few minutes. By watching your video and others, we are able to fix it by replacing the solenoids. Since it is 30 year old, learning how to replace igniter is very helpful Thanks a lot for your help!

Most companies/techs charge about 1200 for parts and labor. It’s 2-4 hours if done correctly

A few tips for anyone facing this problem on this fridge. All the screws are 1/4 inch hex The door is attached to the slides with 4 screws. Just loosen them up a turn and the door lifts off the slides, which makes the slides easy to work on If you remove the slide holder on the right hand side, the back panel will bend past the light and you can access the parts on the right side. Three screws hold the slide-holder in place. The light will hold the back out of the way. The fan cover has three tabs. Two near the top that push towards the center, and one on the bottom that pushes up. They're easy to break 😞 Fortunately the thing seems to stay in place with two of them broken. There's a foam baffle running midway across the back facing the coils. If the coils are frozen up, it might get stuck in the ice and break. Fortunately the adhesive is good, so it's easy to reattach the pieces. If you need to get the fridge cold while waiting on the parts to come in, you can judiciously use a heat gun to defrost the coils. You don't even need them completely clear. If you get about 2/3 of the way across then plenty of cold air will flow to the fridge. If there's a lot of ice, the catch pan under the fridge will overflow.

Helps a lot! Better a restriction than a pin hole leak somewhere in the pipes/tubing! My garage refrigerator stopped cooling! Hopefully the new capacitor/relay will fix it because I wasn’t getting any resistance on the relay when I checked w my multimeter. If that doesn’t fix it than I am afraid this may be the issue! I know my seals are well in tact as well. I may have to get a torch, the correct solder, and 134a refrigerant which is all very expensive!

Thanks for the video, especially to show the mistake of lifting the stovetop after getting the spring loaded clip to dislodge. I do have a similar and probably the exact same model of Maytag gas stove. My wife scratched it up and I just picked up a new replacement that's nice white and and shiny. I don't want to face the same mistake of cracking the gas lines underneath the stovetop. What else do I need to do to replace the old stovetop and replace it with the new one? When I loosen all the burners, I see that each hole has screws on the perimeter. Are those the only screws I need to remove before slipping the putty knife to lift the stovetop? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
