Hey, thanks a million. The repairman told me today that I needed a new control board. This was going to cost me $550.00 for my Maytag Bravos XL Washing Machine to get working again. I told him never mind because at that price, I would just buy a new washing machine today. Because I was going to replace the washing machine, My son and I decided to open it and see what we could learn. The short of this story is that with your KZbin we were able to fix the problem in less than 18 minutes for free. Thank you so much.

The washer upstairs has the same error code as yours. Thank you so much for this KZbin young lady. No more Maytags crap for me and,, you are worth your weight in gold.

Wow!!! This is DETAILED step by step instructions!! It's a little overwhelming for those of us with BARELY intermediate mechanical skills so i'm gonna just throw this in.... BEFORE you start breaking your washer down, try unplugging your machine....wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. Hit the power button or turn the selection knob. Mine turned right on. HAPPY WASHING!!!!

Thanks for the video. I also had F6 E2 error. I was able to clean some electrical contacts with Q tip and alcohol (as instructed in the KZbin video "Maytag Brovos XL won't start won't turn on error code F6 E2 / F6 E3" and the washer worked again. Try this before replacing any parts.

thanks for this video...I noticed there was a light stain on the board around the connector on the control panel therefore I didn't change anything! I just cleaned the control board/panel around the small connector. Used swab with alcohol. Also taking out the control board without damaging it, open up the sheetmetal cover at the back and you can have easy access the spring tab that holds the control board firmly. You can squeeze that spring under and you can pull out that control panel easily. Be careful with all sharp edges It can puncture your skin. Wear a long sleeve shirt to protect yourself. Cheers!!!!

Came here to see what the F6E2 code was all about. I took apart the UI and found that it was corroded and had shorted. This explained why, unplugging and plugging the unit in caused some sparks in the outlet. I cleaned up the corrosion with isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs. No sparks while plugging it in, and it completed a cycle. I think this bought me enough time to keep up with laundry while the new UI is being shipped, a $210 part. I have had the washer 3 years and come to find out that the "10 year warranty" is 1 year fully covered and 9 years for the motor and basket only, no labor covered. Some warranty...

Since last week i was on the verge of replacing my washer for the same reason " No display on the panel, non of the functions worked, error code F6,E2". After doing some research and nothing to loose, i opened the front panel , cleaned all visible circuit points, especially one which had a build up of oxide, i had to really scrape it out with alcohol and cleaned with Deoxit. Guess what, it started to sing :) . I saved big time. So try it it out before replacing the panel or the whole unit.

Thanks for your advice. I ended up reflow solder the c37, capacitor sticking out and 2 connectors. They are were kinda corroded due to the hot water vapor. I ended up using Kapton tape and cover up that hole so block all the vapor/moisture. Cheers.

Great video. I was able to fix mine with no part replacements. After watching this video I noticed that there was some oxidation/corrosion next to the plug on the circuit board of the user interface control. I cleaned it of with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol then put a small piece of scotch tape over it to protect it from oxidation. That was all it took. Time will tell if this is actually a long term fix or if I just got lucky for now.

@johna19615 жыл бұрын
When you are looking at the clips from the back, pull the part of the metal clip furthest away from you back towards you. This will release the front. When it pops up, push the interface toward the front of the washer . this will release the back.

I'm having the same issue, same error codes and I replaced the board, which did not work, so my next step is the interface. Were all of your buttons and the know working properly before you replaced the interface? I'm asking as a tech told me the interface should be fine since all of the buttons and knob work fine, and he thinks it's the board (which it isn't). I'm hesitant to put more $$ in this unit after not being able to return the board.

Yes it was hard to do that way. I think you may be able to get them off easier if you take the back top panel off and go through that way.
@trenthelms4 жыл бұрын
I ran into this issue today. What worked best for me is to remove the other three screws from the back. Slide the whole top lid of the washer forward and lift (takes somes finesse) so you can get underneath the top panel. When underneath you'll see the metal clips protruding. I pushed on them with my thumbs while pulling the console off and rotating backward off the lid. The left clip was a little tougher than the right clip. So you can use a screwdriver to push against it. btw, I'm still trying to fix my washer. The normal light is just blinking. Nothing happens when I turn the wheel. I was able to get into diagnostic mode but finding good instructions is difficult. I'm still searching.

@@jkay4209 had to replace a valve solenoid body on mine then it would not work. Turns out it needed a $350 button panel! Of course, no warranty for that part. The cause? Steam from the water leaks up under the control pane, rotting out some surface soldered components. Recommend you seal the gap between the button panel and the washer body so condensate cannot form under the interface.
