My 2 rear valve shafts seized up on my gas double oven Gemini stove sometime last year and I considered calling a repair man but then got the idea to order the parts myself .. guess I didn’t realize 2 shafts came in a pack ( I ordered 2 packs 😒 ) now I have extras ! But did the repair MYSELF 😃 My Maytag dishwasher had also burned out.. several years ago and I was considering buying a new one , but never got around to it ( got used to hand washing) but now not working as many hours at work I believe WITH THIS VIDEO I CAN TACKLE that as well….

Thank you thank you thank you! I am so glad that you saved me $271.00 that would have cost me for a new control panel. This is the exact dishwasher I have. All over the internet they want you to use multi-meters and all other kinds of stupid testers to diagnose the problem Your solution to bypass the touch-pad and listen for the motor was brilliant. I did that exact diagnosis and heard the motor. I immediately ordered the new touch pad which was the source of the problem for $192.00, received it today and installed it. Voila! Our dishwasher is back in town! Thanks again.

may I ask what you did that got yours working? I peeled back the strips like he showed, but I didn't see anything to clean. I didn't know it was possible to just swap out the panel. I thought I had to buy a new control panel which is a couple of hundred dollars. I'll take any insight you have. Thanks! Cindy

@@reachthenations We did everything in the video and it started working again. Then it stopped again. Then I removed the touchpad as shown in another video, and it worked again, but the lights were wonky. We got it going long enough to hold on until our new one came in. Went with GE this time, but the build quality isn't as good as the old Maytag. Maybe all of the new ones are simply lesser quality, like everything else these days.

Thanks for the video. I didn’t need to pull the latch out. I just put the control panel back in place after disconnecting the ribbon and shut the door I heard the motor running so I guess I will be getting a new control panel. Thanks again. update. installed the control panel and my washers. fills, heats and drains but will not pump. would this have anything to do with the high temp sensor I bypassed because it broke twice?

I just learned about this recently but I will use your tip about the door strike. Bravo! I've read that a lot of techs change the U.I. and the main control on GE dishwashers to prevent call-backs. How do you handle those?

For those I just check to make sure the main board is giving the 14vdc to the UI. If it is we know the board is good. We have a video on how to do that. Here is the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/inqblIigrpqMhac. I have never had an issue misdiagnosing this with checking those pins on the Ge dishwasher. Also 9 times out of ten the voltage is there so most of the time the issue is just the UI. Maybe that is a shortcut they are doing. Btw you should know if it don’t work after installation. No call back, just own up to the mistake and get what is needed afterwards. Thanks for the comment and watching our videos! I love this test, it helps out with figuring it out. Was trained on this probably 7 years ago lol. I had a good trainer when I started in this business.

If the pump runs without taking the unit apart (hold CANCEL on mine until it lights up) and then close door and pump starts running, does that mean the Control Panel is bad or the Control Board?

Sounds like a bad timer to me. Keep it simple on these things. Timers are supposed to move in timed or auto. It the timer will not move in the auto it sounds like the timer to me.

Mine control board was full of cock roach droppings. I cleaned with 40w contact cleaner and let air dried . Used your method , it is running but control panel still not lighted up. It is responding i pressed cancel, and the pump started pumping.
