Scott, thank you for your informative video. For 72 year old disabled women, it’s important to be able to fix things yourself. If you can’t, at least know what could be wrong before deciding to pay a repairman for a house call for an appliance that may need to be replaced. Unfortunately, I needed you to start from the very beginning! I don’t know the name of the instrument that is used to measure the electricity. I’m sure I will find it by googling! I am going to buy one, test the three parts and replace them if I need to. I’m actually excited by the prospect! I’ve always heard that dryers are extremely simple and easy to repair. You’ve given me the courage to try! Thanks!

Hi, I noticed the wires to the thermal fuse are one color. Is there any polarity /wire position issues when replacing that fuse?
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel3 жыл бұрын
Great question, no polarity problem. Either wire is great.

Could it be that my breaker fuse's "amp-age" is too low? It's a 30 and i think that's too low to handle the maytag electric dryer that i have. I've checked for vent blockage and that's not it ....we clear that out regularly... I'll replace the thermal fuse but I'm thinking it's the breaker box fuse that's just doesn't have enough juice.... I'll be back with an update. Thank you! Your videos are simple informative and to the point ....fast....thank you for that.

Can you try resetting the breakers?
@MaryAnnRegaladoVasquez3 жыл бұрын
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel ok I'm back with an update....it was the breaker box fuse! I was right, can you believe it? The electrician said that we have to install a higher amp fuse. Gosh, I'm just unbelievably smart LOL 🤓 Just kidding 🥰

I have LG Dryer DLEX568OW for 6years and it’s not turn on. I think it’s the logic board, order and replace but no luck, I do everything like reset or spinning the drum but nothing work. Even the “pro” tech guy give up (waste my $75) But I heard like short spark circuits somewhere at the back! Do you have any idea what’s wrong?

Would this be similar to a newer model Maytag as well? Mine is only two years old but stopped heating yesterday. After watching this video I assume it's probably the same issue bc I was getting air flow errors last week. I cleaned all the vents and hose and the error code went away but now it's not heating.

I have continuity across the heater element, the thermostat and the thermal cut-off but the machine still runs without heat. What should I check next?
@JeffLinson3 жыл бұрын
Never mind. I checked continuity across the heating coil and it has a break in it. Thank you for this video which did give me the confidence to take the machine apart.

My dryer will randomly begin heating ...... go for a while, then it just stops heating.... it keeps spinning all the tine. Do you think this is the thermal fuse? Thanks Scott
@thewhiplash85294 жыл бұрын
crazyleg2006 having the same issue. Will heat up one time, but then not the next. Have you had anything check out on your dryer?
@crazyleg20064 жыл бұрын
theWHIPLASH we couldn’t figure it out. But if you leave it on medium heat, it seems to work with no issues :(
@thewhiplash85294 жыл бұрын
crazyleg2006 well I’ve tried both High and Medium...literally today it didn’t heat, so I fiddled with it, set to high and it heated. When it finished I opened door to find towels weren’t completely dry, so restarted it and wouldn’t heat. I’ve been trying different settings for the last couple hours and not getting any heat now. Sucks. Dryer is literally like just over a year old and probably ran less than 40 hours in that time.

Maytag Performa dryer, MDE2500AYW, has worked great the 18 years we’ve had it and I beleive I can get another 10 out of it. This January the jumper wire on the heater element burnt up. I replaced it and the dryer started heating up again. Two weeks ago same wire burnt again. I’m thinking is there something else. Heater element looks fine no damage, no rust or cracks in the coil. I would like to send you a picture I took.
