I lost my girlfriend, I watched a lot of people die from Covid-19 at my job. My tire blew out yesterday and I had to replace all four. Thank you so much you saved me $745.on repairs or go by a new one an my united is only 3yrs old. An I use it only once a week.i live along. Did just as you did. Cleaned the board.cleared the codes. Put all back together an tap the start bottom an I was up an running. I put the 419D coating on it from Amazon. It costs me nothing because I had Amazon points to cover the 419D coating. A tec call out would have cost me 150.00 then add the parts taxes it would have been around $750. OR more. It cost me nothing .thank you so much an I saved it from going into the landfill. When I plugged back in it still had the error codes blinking but I followed your steps to reset and now it's working fine. Okay, tried the quick fix and I continue to get a F6E2 or 3.. The corrosion is removed and it looks good but doesn't work and I've done a reset and left power off for a while... same issue diagnostics push buttons works and reset works but then power does not. I would think getting a new "Whirlpool WTW8500DC2 Console - Genuine OEM" at $185 would be the right part to get or do I need to get the Control unit at $295? BTW, I did check the cable continuity and it was fine. Thanks, good video!

Im going to try fixing this machine myself I had someone come over charged me $30 for the visit and wanted $150 for labor and parts double priced I know because I checked prices on the parts myself, after doing that I asked him if he could just charge me for labor and I will buy the parts he said ok I went ahead and order the parts the guy never showed up I’ve been calling and nothing can’t st here and wait wish me luck I know I could do this thanks for the tip 👋🏼👍🏻

I just watched another video where the guy said to just buy a new board after showing how he got the top off. So many comments raving about what great advice. Watched your video and fixed it myself and just ordered my conformal acrylic from Amazon (still $12). I fixed my fridge ice maker after a plastic part was worn down too instead of replacing the whole ice maker. These companies are designing these for planned obsolescence or part wear-out just to make money. Back in the day, washers, refrigerators, etc. lasted for years and years with no electronics. Less tech/lasts longer. How many use more than 2 settings on these machines?

I watched your video for a bravos xl someone was giving away. Getting the F and E error code so I popped the back off thinking I was going to clean it like you showed but the tray that holds the clips is full of a yellow fluid. I’m sure this thing will never work

Just like many of the comments before me, this video saved quite a bit of money and aggravation. This is clearly a defect that I hope Maytag fixes on future machines. This fix literally took 15 minutes. Cleaned connectors as instructed. Machine works like new. Thanks so much for posting this video.

I have been dealing with these error codes for last four months. Sometimes powering it off and on did trick. Other times I had to change cycle to quick wash. Sometimes I had to drain and spin just to complete the cycle. Finally called technician and got quote of $850 on top of $150 he charged for visit. Finally got my lazy ass off the couch and watched videos. Followed your instructions and just completed cleanup. Did not notice lot of green stuff around those golden areas but noticed some sticky stuff. Hard to get out. Turned on cycle and waiting for results . By the way I did break the front left cover while opening. If it works I can still live with broken cover. Will post results in an hour

Happy to report that first cycle ran through fine. Usually at the end of cycle , I get one or two or three error codes since this problem started. This time I did not see any error codes after first successful cycle. Started second cycle and going through fine. My wife thinks credit goes to you and her as she forwarded this video to me. Use clear nail polish and just put it on the board. You don’t have to put it on the things that stick out from the board. Just that tiny square that’s exposed. Good thing is you can’t mess it up worse than won’t power on lol.

Worked on my MVWB766FW1. One of the little gold connectors was black with corrosion. It took a couple hours to clean off with rubbing alcohol then vinegar & baking soda, but it works now. THANK YOU JOSH!

About two year ago I had to repair my “broken” washer and the price was a nightmare (also because of covid) now my washer was “broken” again and I had a guy “repair it” but the next day (today) it was broken again. I did exactly what you did in the video to reset it. I got all the numbers you mentioned. Once I turned it off, it wouldn't turn on.. My Maytag is NOT the Bravo but same control panel. I tried it 3 times.. HELP!!

It's probably your buttons worn down. There is a spongy layer to the button kinda like foam that wears down and doesn't keep things connected to register when you are pushing the power button. I've had this happen a few times. I replaced the foam with a small square of sponge and it fixed it for me.

I have tried this method successfully once. I worked very well for a month. Unfortunately yesterday I once again had the dreaded e2 f6 code. I followed directions again and reprogrammed the front panel but now the machine won't turn back on. And has now again started flashing e2 f6. Any ideas or suggestions? Do I need to replace a part? If so which one should I try?

Unfortunately you might need a new CPU board. If you spend the money to get a new one, make sure you coat the exposed area with clear nail polish to keep this from happening again. Good luck!!

I have a Maytag washer model number MVWB835DW4, my question is when I’m running normal cycle the last 10 minute of the cycle it supposed to rinse, spin and done but for some reason on the rinse cycle it washing the clothes and then it says done. I can't tell you how many times I've watched this to fix my washer. This has saved me so much money. First time it happened called a repairman, charged me 70$ and was gone in 10 minutes. Never said anything about the fix. Next time it happened I turned to good Ole You Tube. Buying the Acrylic this time though

Likely damaged board will need to be replaced then. Make sure you coat the new board spot with clear nail polish before you install and start using it. The problem repeats because of steam.

My washer in particular wasn't getting an error code at all. I would turn it on and it just wouldn't let me do anything else. No cycle selection, no start, just power on, and power off. I recently had to go back in for a cleaning because the start button was acting funny again and couldn't remember how to get the top off the washer. And let me say I'm glad I found this video. Your solution to prevent having to do this again was a god send. I was using electrical tape to cover the opening, but it wasn't foolproof forever obviously. I applied that coating (but still put the tape back over the opening for the wire and the connector) and this thing is running as good as new! Thanks!

I was skeptical about this solution to the problem, but I had nothing to lose trying. I am glad I did, to my amazement it actually worked. I did not have the kind of corrosion described by Josh. It was hardly visible, but still, there was some present. After scrubbing it down with alchohol-soaked Q-Tips, it worked! Josh, thanks for saving me time, money, and hassle.

This video is spot on. The first two or three videos on these error codes that I saw here on YT showed how to remove the control panel (there's another method that may be less prone to scratching paint than using the spreader to pry), but then basically said you get a new panel, connect it, and you're done. No exploration of why the panel may be bad, just "buy the part and put it in." I happened to see another video yesterday from a guy who seemingly stumbled over the fix (or maybe he was playing innocent and had actually seen this video) and, following the instructions of cleaning those contacts, I was able to fix the washer. This video confirmed and expanded on what the other guy was saying. It also covers what to put on those pieces to prevent reoccurrence of the problem. In my case I was able to use a Q-tip taped to a pencil and then some more aggressive means (e.g. a bit of sandpaper taped to a pencil) to access the little copper bars and clear them off from the back without removing the panel. As this video shows, there are other exposed parts, too, in that same area. So I may be getting back in there before too long. But now I have an understanding of what the problem is and how to fix it. Thank you Josh for the generous donation of your time and expertise to help save us from big repair bills and help save the landfills from equipment that still has many years of service left in it.
