Cool engines. I wonder if replacement parts can still be found? Maybe at farm equioment shows?

I love what appears to be a single piston, combustion engine, but I’m even more impressed by the fact that it appears to be running without any fuel whatsoever. I would love to see a more detailed video showing how you start it up and fuel it. I presume you would need to start it with a pull rope, perhaps using the small pulley in front.

Looks like there's a fuel tank in the base under the carburetor at 1:10

You can see the kick lever, opposite the cylinder. There were loads of leftovers in the rural areas after FDR's Rural Eletrification Act of 1936 brought power lines into the hills and everyone retrofitted electric motors. My dad built go karts from scrap lumber powered by this very design.

My Korean toploader started doing the death rattles a couple days ago and now plain doesn't move, it does make some noise like it is trying, but the electric motor gets hot. I can turn the belt by hand, so there's no seized parts. Weird video suggestion, I haven't looked anything up related or even spoken about it.

Sorry to hear your having issues. I'm not a wash machine technition...I'd suggest Searching the machine model with "issues" on the youtube search engine...and then binge for a while.

@@500kchevrolet9 Nah, I am a bit of an expert at this point, repaired just about everything else on it. Belt, water intake, water outake. It's just old and clapped out, plus I am sure the water intake leaking and spraying water all over didn't do it any favors. Figures it'd clap out just after I replace the belt on it too.

Is there a way to rev it up? Or is it fixed rpm?
@500kchevrolet96 ай бұрын
Rpm is fixed...BUT..there us a throttle situation that reacts to load. Thats the reason it seemed to only hit every tenth stroke or so...if you load it...it has a mechanism to maintain rpm by hitting more often.
