Mazagón is a nucleus of population belonging to the municipalities of Moguer and Palos de la Frontera in the province of Huelva, Andalusia, Spain. It is governed by the Moguer - Palos de la Frontera mancomunidad constituted by the municipalities of Moguer and Palos de la Frontera. Its geographical coordinates are 37 ° 8'N 6 ° 49'OCoordinates: 37 ° 8'N 6 ° 49'O (map). It is located at sea level and 22.7 kilometers from the province's capital, Huelva. In 2012 the coastal nucleus had 4.101 inhabitants (INE), counting the total inhabitants existing in each of the corresponding municipal terms to which it belongs (3,357 inhabitants in the term of Moguer and 744 in the one of Palos de la Frontera)
References to Mazagón as a nucleus of population begin at the end of the 19th century and until the middle of the 20th century motivated by fishing, the richness of its forests, agriculture and the summer residential character that many families of Moguer, Palos de la Frontera , Bonares or Rociana del Condado was given. It was precisely families from the present county of El Condado that began to occupy the beaches in times of rest. At the end of the harvest they settled in small huts or ranches made of pine, eucalyptus and reeds.

The main claim is its extensive beaches and proximity to the natural spaces of the National Park and Natural Doñana, the Natural Sites of the Lagoons of Palos and the mothers, and the Estero Domingo Rubio; as well as the Colombian and Juanramonian character conferred by its parent cores. Mazagón has the most virgin beaches of the province of Huelva, in addition it has a natural environment with the dune dune and the pine forests as outstanding elements. It delimits with the National Park of Doñana by the northeast, where begins the denominated Beach of Castile. It has blue flag in its Parador and port.
