Thank you for these, I'm a cnc apprentice and currently work between fanuc, mori seiki and also mazak machines, there aren't as many people competence in teaching mazak programming so these videos will be of great help.

Thanks for the video. It brings back happy memories of before I retired. I ran and programmed a Mazak Quick Turn 28 T32 for 15 years. Lernt all the shortcuts going from Mazatrol to G codes and back when appropriate. Oh Happy days. It was a brand new m/c and 4 of us went down to the Factory to be trained in programming in thee Midlands UK. After watching these videos To refresh my faded memory I think I could walk back onto the m/c after 20 years and carry on as no time had passed. I must be a Nerd for getting hooked on these videos. My little c/lathe isn't the same in retirement.

Thanks so much. Just started as a CNC machinist on a mazak t plus and I have to set up and program a piece on monday as a test. The guy training me is good but not a very good teacher, or hasn't had the time to give me enough hands on training yet. Been surface grinding for 3 out of my five days so far, so this was a big help setting up a basic program. Thank you!

Oh man I wish I discovered your channel 24 hours ago! I just did my first Mazatrol T-Plus program (and also my first lathe program!) with guidance from the boss. Watching you do the Z-offset suddenly makes a lot more sense now. I'm going to have to spend every spare moment I have watching your other videos now :D Thanks heaps!

Hi nice videos. A good tip i always do is after setting your z zero ,look in your programme for the furthest z position .I then manually traverse the tool off the face & to a safe distance off the outer diameter of the part ,then traverse it manually to the furthest position it will go to in Z (checking the position on the display) to check that the tool will not crash into the chuck or alarm out on the chuck barrier. Has served me well over the years. Would you be able to do a video on fixed & floating head tapping please ?
@mazatroltipsandtricks68164 жыл бұрын
Yes, I do that too, but haven't shown it on the videos. Good point. I can do floating tapping, but my old machine does not have rigid tapping capability.

Hi Phil. I have what I think is a good idea for a video for you to demonstrate if you’d like. I think there are a bunch of new machinists out there that would love to hear how you would go about tackling this process. I’m interested in seeing you demonstrate how you would create a 90° groove on the face of a part. What tool you would use, and how you would go about programming it to get a nice groove with a nice finish and no chatter.

Thanks for the idea Brian. Face grooves are definitely something I need to do.

Mazatrol Tips and Tricks I started trying to learn the machine today. Had an issue setting a small p horn boring bar with the tool setter the bar was off by like 10mm or so. Manual setting it off a predrilled hole worked. Any idea why the od tools set correctly of the tool setter but not the boring bar. Also the machine is in inch I changed a parameter that made everything change to mm but when trying to run the program the numbers weren’t correct.
@mazatroltipsandtricks68164 жыл бұрын
@@chrisn3794 You cannot simply switch a Mazak over from inch to metric like a Fanuc. You have to change a BUNCH of parameters to make the machine function correctly.

I’m having trouble programming a full circle face groove using mill line center with a 90 degree chamfer tool. I envision ramping the tool in at the starting radius and just walking the c axis around. Seems simple lol. I can get it to go 180 degrees, but not any farther.
@mazatroltipsandtricks68162 жыл бұрын
Try programming it in 90 degree increments.

i am not even sure how EIA ends up generating codes you know how with fanuc you have G28 U0 G28 W0? or always G20.... only M3 no gear change while in okuma (M3 M42 you can have ton of M codes in one line) with Fanuc end with G28G91X0Y0 G28Z0 M30 (end rewind) as opposed to (M2 okuma) is it the same with Mazatrol EIA?

@@christophercolumbus8944 I can't say All ?? But most who run Mazak 2 & 3 Axis Lathes. Usually they run these machines in Mazatrol Mode. Same for me unfortunately. So i am no wealth of information on this subject. But i understand your question about the Codes. IF in EIA Mode the Mazak Machines Should run ISO / EIA Codes with out to much trouble ?? But maybe i am assuming too, LOL. I am Assuming because it's the same when i use a Siemens Controller in ISO Mode. Not sure what part you are trying to create also. And IF you are trying to do this on a Lathe or a Mill ?? Assuming again. Lathe ?? Not much that can't be created in Mazatrol Mode. I guess most of what i am writing is not much help as most of this you already know. I wish i had the right answers for you. But i am limited by my previous experience with different Controllers, and some of it you forget too, LOL

Just learning mazatrol so great videos thanks. One question. Would you happen to know, is this mazatrol principal that you are demonstrating the same that would found on the new mazak machines with the smooth controls?
@mazatroltipsandtricks68164 жыл бұрын
The Smooth controls are very similar to what I am showing here even though this machine is 30 years older. The biggest differences with my machine and smooth control is the tool description in Smooth is placed inside the program vs just calling up tool 1 for example. Also, the work shift is also inside the program instead of on the tool file screen. The basic language is the same. I had no trouble learning the Smooth control on the Integrex.

@mazatroltipsandtricks68164 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Just so you know, you can enter wear offsets on the old Fanuc 6T on the geometry page by inputting U and W values. This will add or subtract from the geometry. For example, W-.001 will change the geometry by .001". I do not remember if U values will change on diameter or a radius though. What I mean is U-.001 might change the diameter by .002". Check it to be sure.
