My parents bought one about 6 years ago, still like it and never had an issue with it.

The Mazda2 should be more popular than it is, it also has a lovely interior as well.

I am a self confessed VW/Audi fanboy. I own a 7.5 GTD and an A4 Sline avant. We did have a VW Golf Tdi 52 plate until it had to be scrapped a few months ago. I spotted one of these and snapped it up within minutes of a test drive. It's the base model (1.5 petrol on a 64 plate) but we just wanted a town car. 75 bhp is now 128bhp for £200. It's a fantastic car.

It’s good you can adjust the driving position from the left to the right!

Those exposed wires behind the rear view mirror. Lovely.

My Honda has keyless entry, which, as you say is nice, but it`s entry only, to lock the car you have to push a button on the door handle?, why do I have to do this am I missing something?.

Why is keyless entry still so highly rated? My 14 yr old Laguna has keyless entry ... and push button start and auto locking when I walk away etc

Cracking little car, totally anonymous but capable. I tried (the earlier) one before I bought my Jazz ..... PS keyless entry, I like the car to stay locked until I point the key out of it and consciously unlock it.

0-62 in 9.7s is actually pretty surprising for a car with only 90hp and a lack of torque. Case in point - a 208 with the PureTech 100 engine isn't any quicker - 10 more horses, about 40 more foot-pounds of torque, but whilst it does weigh a little bit more, that doesn't make it faster at the sprint. I do also like the Soul Red Crystal Metallic paint job that Mazda likes to offer, even if it's not very durable, and I generally like the design. However... it's definitely a car that could do with a proper revision - it doesn't offer AEB on the base 75hp model (or even AEB over 50mph), the lack of internal storage would be a bit of a pain, the rear windows get much narrower towards the back as part of the look... and that red paint? *£800* inc. VAT. One final point - the auto doesn't get the hybrid tech - why?

I have one and think it feels quicker to 60 than the 9.7 seconds time suggests. It feels quick away from traffic lights.

That's the problem with the Sky Activ engine design - no torque till around 4,000 rpm.

Not the case at all pulls perfectly well in low Rev ranges if you want some speed and power just rev it up
@jdmguy44

@@lucasgrubb2447 Agree. I've got a 2018. True it doesn't have a huge amount of low down torque but drop it down a gear or two and it let it rev and it comes alive with a good amount of kick. I think it feels quicker from rest than its 9.7 seconds 0-60 time suggests (in the case of the 90ps). Had it for over two years and still enjoying driving it. If you like driving and want a supermini then it is well worth a look.

@@jdmguy44 I think i'll get one for my first car. Has it been reliable? The only complaint I have heard from my research is interior build quality not being great. Have you encountered this issue? Thanks,
@jdmguy44
@jdmguy44 3 жыл бұрын
@@maxmorris4562 No reliability issues at all - or issues with interior build. The only slight issue I have had is syncing phone contacts on to the infotainment system but perhaps that's due to the phone I have. I still enjoy driving it after two and a half years. The engine is rev happy, the gearbox is very slick and steering and brake feel are good. Arguably more fun than rivals with a smaller capacity turbocharged engine and better real world fuel economy too.
