My Mazda 5 transaxle had been shifting weird for years, especially when slowing down and coming out of a corner it would "search" for a gear before engaging. I always figured it was the transaxle but when the AT light started coming on recently and going into limp mode I ran a scan and found the "solenoid A" code. After replacing the solenoids and speed sensors there was no change so I went down the rabbit hole and found this video and several forum posts about the Mazda TCMs going bad. So I got the service through UpFix and it took about 5 days total turnaround from shipping it out to receiving it. This was the fix. I don't ever remember my Mazda shifting so well. At 95k miles it is like driving a new car. So glad I did not take it to a shop to have them rape me for a new transaxle.

I have a Mazda 5 2013 and I'm having an issue when I drive it, it jerks then my AT light came on, and also my check light. Then the car won't go reverse. We change the tranny oil, transmission mount. Another thing my car won't start we check the battery it is fine. Please what do you think ?

It takes skilled tech around 3 hrs just to get inside the unit without damaging the circuit board.

I need my tcm repaired but the sticker on the side looks like all the numbers faded due to heat, and also it had an aluminum type of sticker sealing the back, not sure if it has already been tampered with, can you advise?

If it was already tanpered or previously worked on, we dont recommend that you send it for repair.

If it's a 2006 or older there is no TCM but rather PCM controls both engine and transmission. Check to see if it's mounted on top of the transmission especially if it looks identical. However that's for 2007+ models

I made a mistake by sending the wrong tcm with different number was programmed to my vin but getting a b shift solenoid code should i send in the original tcm or replace the shift solenoid

Yes it is always best to send original part for repair. That way you can avoid additional programming at the dealership.

I got a Mazda 5 2009 . Transmission going good then in the dash i lost the transmissions logo (D) its flash or go away then the transmissions start only usint 1 and 2 gear . I slap the transmissions lever and everything going ok .

Are you referring to TCM (transmission control module) ? If you are, the new units are currently on national backorder. Used ones are hard to find and if you do then you never know how long the used part will last.

Can a dirty transmission fluid cause this problem?

Yes clean transmission fluid does help. But if you are getting those DTC error codes then it is most likely the TCM failing. We have seen some recommendations from other people to first try changing the transmission fluid.

Do you guys still have this service car went out yesterday checked fused grounds went as far as going into the harness didn't see any exposed or anything wires i havent done a full diagnostics im sure i can jump start the TCM to the pcm but honestly i dont think its a wire issue i believe its been cooked or just over heated bc i was able to drove home after i took it off i let the tcm cool and pluged back in clean plugs obviously and it worked till i got home did the same thing again im pretty sure its got heat damage i cant aee any but it was used from anther car but yea i need this service if you guys still do it ?

Just bought a 2012 3i touring. Last night was only the 2nd time I drove it and noticed the window with avg fuel economy and other set ups was fading out. I tried to find info on that issue but not really much out there except for a person saying that theirs did that when heat was on, and my heat was on. Anyone know a fix for that issue?????

Mechanic told me My mazda received code P0791 . Car is shifting ok but the yellow Engine light and AT yellow light are ON, Oil was replaced, 3 sensors was replaced, is it possible TCM is bad?
