Chiggy Chiggy they said multiple times they’re not doing mazdaspeed anymore. Do you want them to go bankrupt? They’re a small company they need to focus on making mainstream cars that sell well, not super niche platforms and engines that require an enormous amount of R&D just to sell 10,000 of them, 3 of which would be manual even though people keep whining and bitching about no manuals but don’t buy them.

Proud owner of Mazdaspeed 6. Wishing for a new generation Mazdaspeed 6. It's so incredibly & increasingly hard to find production parts even after market ones for this puppy. At some point I'm going to have to put her down. After nearly 250k miles, still on stock engine, she's about on the last leg of her life. Winter climate and doing all I can to prevent rust has finally caught up to her. Come on Mazda I know you can bring a AWD platform to the forefront. Touch that untapped market again please please please I'm begging on my hands and knees here.

That's what I have been saying. I had an 06 speed 6 for ten years. Started having issues with motor at 100,000 miles . Was putting more into then it was worth. Bought a WRX . Love the WRX miss the power of the Speed6.
@viktorbryce9516 жыл бұрын
@@mustang3.0 Couldn't help but receive and read your comment. Yeah I've had my 06 MS6 for 11 years now. I've always done oil changes every 2500 miles and well done everything I can to baby the car through out it's life. Only accident I ever had with it was a deer collision back in 2010 and it wasn't major. Luckily it happened when parts were still available. But now I'm faced with to much rust. Shock dampener is shot and it bolts into the sub-frame of the car. Bolts and Lugs so rusted and rounded you can't get a solid hold of them. And for fear of breaking them clean off and ruining my sub-frame essentially the car it's the last year I'll have with her. Sure I could weld the new Shocks in straight to the sub-frame but finding a person who'd pass me on inspection... yeah rather not. Got a good inspection before this happened so I've another 9 months left to just drive it into the ground. So my next ride I'm considering a WRX due to wide OEM & aftermarket parts being available. The other is the depreciation value not being a hard hitter. Subaru's are basically what Mitsubishi Evo's have become. They just hold value. And yeah I'll miss the power of the MS6 cause I've smoked many a WRX & STI in my early teens. Looking back foolish and stupid and I've since matured. Other car I had considered was Ford's Focus RS, but due to limited production run and the issue I'd heard they have had with the Engine seals I opted out of the idea. Would consider a Audi or BMW but not knowledgeable enough to work on them and there aren't people in my area who would. If anything went wrong I'd be in a money pit. My options are scarce as it must be a Standard AWD. And well we both know how slim the pickings are in that regard.

250k on a Speed 6? Damn. They did just put a pretty decent 2.5L turbo in the current Mazda 6. Automatic only.

@@viktorbryce951 If you can get past the lack of awd you should check out the mk7 gti. Great value for the price. I had a stage 2 wrx for a while and was a "awd only" guy until I bought a srt4 as a project car. That thing hauled ass and was so much more fun than my wrx! Ended up not giving a shit about the lack of awd...But back to the gti. My buddy got a 6-speed mk7 with the performance package last year and I've gotten to drive it multiple times. Such an amazing all around car, and with a stage 2 tune those things can haul serious ass! I don't remember the exact numbers, but I'm pretty sure it's something like 350/360 to the wheels. Just get yourself some sticky tires and call it a day! (If you have the money a golf R is an awd option that comes with a bigger turbo and even more smiles)
@viktorbryce9516 жыл бұрын
@@kvee2761 It's funny you mention buying a SRT-4 because I've been working on a salvage one for the past 8 years now. She's been sitting in a storage unit. Not really going to be meant as a daily driver but more of a well show car. It's just evolved into that. Living in Pennsylvania roads are just awful. And as low as the car now sits ground clearance is a issue. That and fear of rocks chipping the paint job. So yeah with a gold-flaked & 2-tone candy pearl paint job of like $2k and aftermarket front-bumper I'm not about to risk ruining that. As for why it's taken so long it's always been a matter of time & money. Either I'd be caught up working on my home renovating it or repairs or I wouldn't have the $ to put into it. So it sits underneath a cover in a storage unit as it's a affordable place to keep it. Will admit they do haul ass so long as your moving in a straight line. As for where I live most of my roads are curvy so having the AWD makes it that much more fun and enjoyable at least to me. That and how much better it handles the snowy climate. Before the SRT-4 just had a plain Jane Neon with a bolt on Turbo. Put down around 225 to the wheels. Wasn't overly powerful but enough to have plenty of fun with for a first car. Well as light as the ass ends in them are they don't like sharp corners. Sadly put it in a ditch and more or less totaled it. One of the dumbest things I could've done needlessly to say. They always say you do the stupid shit in your youth. Pray tell our Elders weren't kidding. How I wish I'd listened Now back to the Volkswagon. It actually had been something I'd considered. The issue though is I just don't know enough about them to work on them myself or know of anybody around my area that can work on them. I live about as far out in the sticks as one can get. So knowledge of how to do repairs and parts availability is something I have to strongly consider. The other for me is the aftermarket. I like to modify the platform and make my car unique. Luckily didn't really need to do that to my MS6 as nobody around my area owns one. But I'd get questioned all the time what the heck is that. But yea I don't doubt it's a marvelously fun car to drive. With a solid tune there isn't any doubt it puts down those numbers to the wheels. But if I were to get one I'd likely pay more for the Golf R and just have the more smiles per gallon.

@Christopher Your logic does not make sense bro. Even if it did win because of other cars failing, it's still successful because it didn't fail. They might have given up on the rotary for racing but they still made the RX8 which wasn't the greatest thing ever but still a rotary. They haven't made rotaries since then because of emissions standards and the fact that the RX8 didn't do as well as the RX7 comparatively so they saw the dying interest and cancelled them. They might bring the rotary back in the possible RX9 which would be paired with hybrid tech to pass emissions and keep mpg decent.

I had a 2007 Mazdaspeed3 I bought used with 1 previous owner and 47k miles in 2014 from a dealership whom just took it on trade from an elderly woman in Virginia (Im in CT). I bought it sign unseen after seeing videos of the car from the dealership and trusting in what I was told and saw. It was the best used car I have ever bought. It got delivered to my home when I was working late at night and coming home to it at 10:30 PM was awesome. The car was like BRAND NEW! All the original stuff that came with the car was intact (minus the window sticker which always bothered me and still does) and the rear seats where like brand new still as if nobody ever even sat in the bank. Long story short, I kept it for one year and a half. I modified it with basic bolt ons (air intake, inlet pipe, CBE, basic stage 1 tune) and that car was an absolute BEAST on high way rolls. I beat more cars with unsuspecting drivers in my MS3 than any other car I owned (including an e46 comp pack 6 speed by a hair) and put a semi hard 30k miles on the vehicle before selling it for a brand new 2016 Subaru STI (which I still have). I have thought about selling my sti for another first gen speed3 numerous times and even wish I kept mine. It is WAY more fun and WAY more reliable than any STi/WRX/EVO and with snow tires never left me stranded.

I used to commute to work with a girl that had a black RX-8. We'd pass each other and stuff, it was cute. My rig was a '78 El Camino, all urethane bushings, Eibach springs, subframe connectors, tremec swap, and most importantly a 5.3 LS (built, it did 470 and 420 at the flywheel), with a Currie 9 with 3.89s. Our commute was twisty. When she rawdogged that little Wankel, I couldn't leave her. FAST normal family car.

@Christopher sure it is. engine dynos do that all the time. people who do engine swaps run thier engines on engine dynos all the time to work out the kinks before plopping it into the car. and with good enough suspension and stiffening, a camino would have zero problem canyon carving. making yourself look like a fool bud
@Demonslayer201114 жыл бұрын
@Christopher engine dynos are a thing bruh. I've used one to tune a 6 cylinder vortec i swapped into my Hilux. It's a great way to make sure everything is right BEFORE you drop it in as it makes it much easier to work on. Don't fucking patronize me you little shit.
@Demonslayer201114 жыл бұрын
@Christopher and stick to the point? You are the dumbass who is claiming nobody uses engine dynos. It's the easiest way to see how parts affect an engines performance.

I'm gonna say it: I LOVE the looks of those early thousand Protege's. I had a Protege5 (The hatchback) in college and while it wasn't a race car, it handled well and was so much fun to drive. I finally sold it with 275,000 miles on it, but I would love to get another one someday for the nostalgia. Maybe an autocross car? I dunno, but happy Thanksgiving if you're still reading.

Great video but there are some Mazda cars that were left out and some dates that I think are wrong. 1. Not mentioning of the Rx3 2. Not mentioning of the 1987-88 Mazda GTX and GT. 3. Not mentioning of the 1986 626 GT that also came later with a 4 wheel steering. This car came in 2 door, 4 door, and 5 door versions 4. Not mentioning the RS division on IMSA during the ‘80 were Team Highball with Amos Johnson and Dennis Shaw dominated with Mazda’s GLC and 323. Also they dominated on the GTU division with their 2 rotor RX7. 5. The video gives the illusion that the MSP stoped production in 2003 and in 2004 the Mazdaspeed Miata came in. Actually Mazda continued to produce the Mazdaspeed 3 from 2004 to 2013 and decided to produce each year a different model as a Mazdaspeed version for only one year . In 2004 was the Miata. Then came the Mazdaspeed versions of the Rx8, cx7 and mx6. Each was produced for only one year. 6. The scoop on the Mazdaspeed 3 did not appear until the last year of production in 2013. Nice video. I love it as my family has owned several of these Mazda’s. My dad owned a 1986 5 door 626 GT and a Millenia S. My uncle a 1988 Mazda 323 GT FWD and bought from Team Highball one IMSA RS GLC and 2 IMSA RS 323. I myself owned a 1988 Mazda 323 GTX and I still currently own a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege.
