Mazda 3 LED daytime running lights vs Signature lights

Gary Johnson called into the dealership and asked us what the difference was between the LED daytime running lights on the Mazda 3 SE-L & SE-L Lux and the Signature lights on the Sport Lux, GT Sport and GT Sport Tech. Here's the answer!

Good vid, but the base running lights are not LED, they are basic incandescent bulbs. I don't understand Mazda for doing this... Even if its not signature, such a stylish car looks awful with those bulbs especially since the rest of the lights are led.

The running lights on the 2016 sel model are mint really bright and very stylish they should have kept them on the newer model really loving my mazda 3 I just wished it came with door lights

Great vid! I have a question about the rear parking sensors on the Mazda 3. Why do some models have 4 rear sensors while others have 6 (including 2 rear side sensors)? How do you choose that option? Many thanks

I find it very stupid that Mazda put the ugly yellow halogen DRL in the low spec models. It's a 2019+ vehicle and should all come standard with LED daytime lights. It completely ruins the aesthetic of the car.

Thats why should get the Premium (even if it costs a bit more). Those halo lights are what helps make the car stand out

do the DRLs on the right vehicle turn off when the main headlight unit is on i.e. at night time? I don’t like how the halogen is mixed with the led headlight. not a fan of mazda doing that, cheapens the otherwise stunning design of the car.

Hello can you tell me what that the settings on the display actually do for adaptive headlights IE low medium medium high and high what are this settings as I cannot see any difference. Cheers not very clear in the owners manual

Is the hardware of them the same? It seems like the "ring" in the sport lux ist also in the normal one just not turned on. If not, is there an option to upgrade your headlights? Just lookwise.

I had front footwell leds installed. I presumed they only worked as a welcome facility, but after it gets dark, they seem to be on all the time, not that they are a distraction though. Is this the case, or is there another setting? Thanks.

I installed those too..put all 4 up front. So mine have a switch with three buttons I stuck where I wanted and the cig lighter plugin for power. The power one also has a button thats like a master power. The 3 button switch also has on/off. These cars (atleast the 2021 hatchback) are known for needing to be run regularly, if not you get a warning that battery is at 20% and you need to run it. Happened to me twice within 10 days of buying it. So I dont allow mine to be on a lot, only at night. Are yours getting power straight from battery or is there also the cig lighter plugin? If from battery call them and ask them how you turn them off during the day.

@@bellmeisterful Thanks, I'm not able to get to the car at the moment, but I will check if they are on through the day when able, as you know they are not too bright but I'll get right underneath where bulbs are. The Mazda dealer installed them in my 2019 GTSport Tech and I've no idea how they are powered, all I know is there is a screen for them in 'settings'.

The Mazda footwell lights are hard wired into the interior fuse board so they stay on all the time and do not have a setting to to turn them off.

The daytime running lights are only on the front of the car however I understand what you mean that it could be useful to have rear ones too.

@@mazdagurus5451 it's the sensible thing to do as an OEM. Only under ideal circumstances it doesn't add much, but all other conditions it definitely does. Luckily, for road safety, more OEM's are implementing this, however mainly the Asian manufacturers refuse to do so...
