You know what would be a cool video, showing some factory/technician hidden "key combos". For example, I know there is a key combo to enable and disable the auto folding side mirrors (which I had to use once when my CX-9's mirror motors failed). There is another command to reset the transmission and relearn its programming. Things like that are super neat!

You could to it at home if you had the software. But Mazda does not allow the distribution of the software outside of a mazda dealer. The software can only be downloaded by a mazda technician.

I've made that test. Everything is OK. Software version is 11048.... Cable is good and new . And still system is keeping reboot... I don't know what to check.

I have a 2018 CX5 GT and I just did the Feb 2023 GPS update, and it's horrible. It has me going around the culdesac to leave my house, using Starbucks drivethru's to access the freeway onramps, and some cities that have been around for over 20 years, like Anaheim Hills California are not an option, and the streets dont exist when I chose just Anaheim. I called the Navigation company And we've tried walking through it on the phone, and then they say they're gonna email me something and they never email me. It's horrible.

Do you know what the “update” option in Mazdas with cellular connectivity does? I think if the car has a data plan with AT&T then you can update the CMU that way.

There is an update Over the air option. But as far as I know its only possible on the Mazda CX-50. Ill have a video explaining patch notes and bug fixes for each update coming soon. Ill also go over the update OTA (Over The Air) option on that video as well

Glad my new 2023 CX-9 GT came with 11048 from the factory. I really don’t like taking the car to any dealership for this type of updates. I think I can do mine on the air. Gotta love those MS-dos game fonts while updating.

Any new vehicle that comes into the dealer has to be updated before being sold.

I was wondering if there is a way to improve the Sound punch on a 2022 Mazda CX-5 Signature with Bose system as year ago I brought my CX-9 to the dealership for screen warranty (screen turning white) when they returned me the CX-9 the sound didn't have that punch that use to have, I brought it back and after couple hours they finish fixing it, looks that was a software fix. Is something that can be done with my CX-5 to improve the Sound punch as well? Looking forward hearing from you

The pcv valve is located under the intake manifold. To access it the intake manifold need to be removed. It comes on an assembly that has baffles on the front of the block right under the intake manifold. Not gonna lie its a pain to get to.

Software updates are covered. If you ever have a problem with your display you can always take it to your dealer and explain the concern. Even if the tech cannot duplicate the concern and your software is out of date it will be updated to the latest version under warranty.

So other than writing here, not sure if there is another way yo contact you to ask "other" questions. So for now, I will ask here. On certain vehicles their ABS systems have HCU's that have an "auto bleed" routine. And one would use this IF they got air in the ABS unit. One connects the factory or aftermarket scan tool and calls up an "auto bleed" routine, where the Tech follows the instructions on the screen, and does what it says - which may include - having to depress the brake pedal at times during this operation. But the idea here is that the entire bleeding operation is done following a single routine that the scan tool calls up. Sooooo my question is - does the OEM scan tool you use at the dealer, have such an "auto bleed" routine? Also.....if I may...one other question. Is there any way to shut off the seat belt chime, other than unplugging the connector under the seat? I'm asking if the OEM scan tool has a box to check, to shut it off? Thanks for your time!

Hey Stephen. So to answer the first question. I haven't used the scanner to bleed the brakes on a Mazda yet. Me and my service manager have done it manually so far. I have used the scanner to bleed on other vehicles like volkswagen or Audi. Its probably possible tho. But I have never tried it. I will 100% get back to you on a answer on that on monday. AS s for the seat belt chime Ill have to look into that as well. I know the seat belt chime can be annoying.

NO problem man. To answer your question each model has their own updated versions. CX-5 and CX-9 share the same versions. CX-50 gets its own. mazda3 and cx-30 also share the same versions. May I ask what kind of mazda you have. I could easily tell you what is the latest software for your vehicle.

I watched videos from other car owners and they have "Wireless Charging Settings" along with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings. I am perplexed as to how I turn the wireless charger off?

No there not free unless your under warranty or have some kind of extended warranty. You could call your dealer and ask them how much they would charge for a software update on your CMU. All dealers have different hourly rates. Depending on how old your version is it could take up to 20 minutes to update the software.

I just bought a 2023 CX5. The difference between it and my 1957 VW is amazing. The VW has no chips and 3 mechanical switches: ignition, lights and wipers. The widows go up and down with cranks, no motors etc etc. Imagine a CX5 with deleted everything except the essentials like the VW. I would pay more for one like that than the one I got.....I will never use any of it. Except the AC. And the VW gets better mileage. And will never need a software update. Or fail when a solar flare or CCP air burst electromagnetic device shuts everything down. Etc etc
