@Kevin Hancock hi the heater was hot on passenger side and cool on driver side checked the actuators all worked , came to conclusion it was the matrix partially blocked, there is a,company selling new ones,with improved pipework in radiator

I changed my egr cooler today . Onve bled etc ..i fekt core hoses and unlike befire the return hose is cold in hose is veey hot ..heaters very hot ill back flush core first see what comes out @seanmcg12

Just as a precaution for anyone that is doing this job on a uk cx5 you have to bend the metal bar out of the way so you have more room to get the blower assembly out as all the electrics are on the passenger side

My Mazda got hot after going over the hill to Santa Cruz and back. I got no check engine light, no over heating signal from guage. When I got home, We got a coolant leak from the reservoir and it felt hot. No smoke, no noises.. just the tink tink from it cooling off. I don’t know what is happening to my car. Maybe it’s the heater core??

Hi great video I doubt it's my issue I'm close to getting rid but feel I've been in one huge circle (costly 1 ).garage recently found no faults after testing but exp tank fills but don't return to rad. So I'm.lateky thinking nit enough vacuum ? I'll check the hose from rad to exp tank new cap btw therm was renewed just over a year ago but got 1 on order anyway..Amy thoughts before I give up the ghost ? Great job just proves dealers are robbing bastards

Do you have any idea if you can access the temp sensor and replace it? I don't know where is located exactly. I have a lot of trouble with the A/C in my 2014 Mazda CX5, the compressor clutch keeps burning. I replaced so far 4 compressors. Everybody told me there is something weird going on and that sensor might be malfunctioning.

The sensor that would control it off and on after you have turned on the ac switch inside the car would be your pressure switch that would protect it from a low charge, you can bypass this with a paper clip but you should check levels first.

Will the engine/error code go away on its own after or does it need some type of reset after replacing the heater core? Just replaced mine using your video but after running for a while P011A was still reading. No leaks after running or driving. Could I possibly need to replace the engine coolant sensors as well?

Technically, the system should reset the code if it's no longer registering a fault. This can also take a few drive cycles depending on how the cars computer is set to read a fault code like this. So, you're choices are to either keep driving it until it resets on its own or borrow a scan tool to reset the code and then see if it comes back. If it comes back, then a deeper diagnosis will be needed.

Did you have to top of the coolant? Most likely lost some that was in the old heater core?

There is two separate sensor for the coolant system that are by the engine.

@@frontyardmechanicdiyall4268 just replaced mine. bought one online from pep boys. it seems to be better. the temps were about 3-5 degree difference between ect 2 and ect 1 with the heater off. did it not too long ago so hopefully engine light doesnt pop back on

Anyone that is told that their heater core is blocked, do a heater core flush, it will probably fix the problem,

I'm.gonna flush core on its own ASAP..reppaced egr cooler today. But return pipe on core is cold inlet is very hot ..everything is new (ish) pump belt rad condensor unit.oem thermostat etc
