Hey peter... i have a 2.2 diesel engine with no boost at 3000rpm when driving the engine bogged down, but rev freely when stationary
@MrSeanizzle2 ай бұрын
Any idea what i could check?
@kennedysgarage32812 ай бұрын
3000 rpm or above ?? Or only at 3000 I would check the intake manifold first, intake air could be restricted. Let me know how you go 😉🤞

Is there anyway to test the vacuum lines with forscan ? Or how would you determine a break/leak
@kennedysgarage32813 ай бұрын
Most of this testing will need to be done manually. The only real exception is if you have a fault code to guide you in a certain direction 🤔🤔

Hi. I have a 2015 Mazda 2.2 Estate. I was hoping you cld help with this annoying issue. The Fuel Economy Montor, when the Engine light goes out, I lose a lot of MPG, maybe 50%. It feels like its more likely to go out when its cold. I drive very frugally, and in 20mph and 50 mph zones. Im not sure if this is a coincidense, but if I drive faster, it does go out eventually. I was wondering if it was because the engine is getting cold, as I drive at pretty low revs/speed. Are there certain Parameters that keep the engine light on. I get 65MPG when on and 45MPG when off. Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi Delroy, the check engine should not be coming on at all 😬😬 It will only come on when the engine management ECU see a running problem & then put the car into limp home mode (no power). I would think that you need to get it looked at by a mechanic, most likely an intake manifold getting blocked 🤔🤔

Hi Kennedy. I really appreciate your reply. Sorry but I meant in the Fuel Economy Monitor which shows i-ELOOP and when the i-stop is ready. AC Icon, Battery Icon and the Engine Icon. When i start the car the Low Engine Coolant Temperature Indicator Light is on, then goes out after a few minutes, Then Engine Icon in the Fuel Economy Monitor then comes on. But afer awhile driving down the motorway, it seems that when the outside tempreture is low, the Fuel Economy Engine Icon goes out and my fuel economy gets terrible. I get 60+mpg, then only 30/40mpg when Fuel Economy Engine Icon goes out. Huge thanks 😁

@@Delroy1of6 hi Delroy, unfortunately I’m not too familiar with the instrument cluster messages. I generally on resolve engine running faults. Is your engine management light coming on ?? Also owners have spoken to me about fuel consumption dropping when the car is doing a regeneration 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
@rkkh64423 ай бұрын
You have frequent requests for dpf regeneration, therefore increased fuel consumption when the blue engine icon is not lit. if the engine temperature is more than 50 degrees Celsius, the engine icon lights up blue and if after a while the engine icon goes out, then a request for DPF regeneration has occurred. this can occur due to the filling of the soot volume in the particulate filter or due to a high pressure drop in dpf. the car tries to burn through the soot by increasing the fuel supply, so high fuel consumption and a gradual increase in the oil level, the oil is filled with unburned diesel fuel. in city mode, the exhaust gas temperature is low because the engine does not operate at full power for a long time, so the ecu gives the command to forcibly raise the exhaust gas temperature to burn off the soot. Outside the city on a highway, the temperature of the exhaust gases is high enough to burn soot; it burns out on its own and forced regeneration is not required, so the engine icon lights up in blue.

@@rkkh6442 well done mate , very good explanation 💪💪

Bring back to old carburettor that is screwdriver adjustable 😂 The top pressure sensor is a right pain in the ahhhh to get out and almost as hateful to get reconnected….the design engineers must conclude “sher that’ll never give any problems” wrong‼️🤪
@kennedysgarage32813 ай бұрын
I think that they conclude that quite often nowadays Damien 😬😬😬 Some bits can be very awkward or I’m getting old and less nimble 😂😂😂

Looks like it be a bugger to trace a damaged vacuum pipe when that engine is in the car.😂
@kennedysgarage32813 ай бұрын
It’s not too bad once the battery is removed, but quite a lot of people get them mixed up & it is quite hard to explain what goes where on a comment 🙂🙂
