I can't understand why lads map out parts of a system and delete software fault codes, to "fix " a symptom without addressing the cause of the symptom ( which are usually easy fixed).... the customer drives off then unknowing to the fact the problem is still there and more than likely doing further damage but he's happy cos there no fault lights on.....false economy imo....not to mention the headaches it causes for the man (like yourself) trying to get things right.......I reckon that's the main reason these Mazda's have such a bad reputation...... another great vid Peter, fair play.

Keep up the good work 😉✋

Hey MrNiceGuy, I do very much agree. The best move for this chap would be to reinstate a good DPF and the original software. At least at that point you’d be able to fix it correctly. Great video P, it looks like cowboy job with dpf...you can delete dpf mechanically and program out BUT all sensors should be in place and be able to read all and fault codes will be on if the programming job done is proper - you just erase block with dpf burnouts as not needed and place solid low value on the filter, thats it rest must stay as it is plus of course only dpf is out and cat conv MUST stay...looks like proper cowboy job

Another brilliant video Peter. Thankfully I don't see too many of these Mazda's in the work shop but do see a lot of Renaults with the turbo exhaust pressure pipe blocked. I've had great success in clearing them out by using the wire from an old window regulator. Cut a bit off that has a ferrule on the end and put that in the drill chuck. Looking forward to the next video.

Hello! I have a mazda 6 2014 120k miles. I have read a lot about this engine since I bought it. Do I have to worry about the injectors, seals, sump, camshaft, chain or carbon buildup? I have no issue with it at the moment but I do expect low oil pressure message anytime. Do you think it is late on this mileage or should I have it checked? I have full service on mazda (every 10, 15k oil changes) and mainly done on motorway. I plan to do the sump and seals but not sure if there is a way to detect if the exhaust camshaft is worn. Thank you and very helpful informations
@kennedysgarage32812 ай бұрын
Oil strainer and oil pump chain is well worth doing first as if the chain breaks it can cause big damage. But the exhaust camshaft and injector was could be done down the road. Just because it only causes Dpf or running problems. Does that make sense??
@marion16002 ай бұрын
Ecu was asking for boost so it wasn't in limp mode created by some input problem (backpressure sensor signal for example) right? Then how does cleaning that pipe make a difference? Doesn't make sense. Also bicycle brake cable on a drill work excellent for cleaning those pipes even for the ones that have sharp bends in it.
@kennedysgarage32812 ай бұрын
Hi Marion, to be honest once the software has been tampered with it generally doesn’t make sense as to what the engine ECU wants or doesn’t want. Original software and fixing a car as it should be fixed is the best approach in my opinion. As for the bicycle cable, I just cannot ever get it to get through hard carbon blockages. But well done mate if it works for you 💪💪💪

Because there are also ghost faults that mean nothing so u be checking them for absolutely no reason it then gets confusing and costly for the customer, its best to erase them all so ur not chasing ur tail and only deal with the genuine fault that 9 times out of ten will return thereby saving time fixing the actual fault charging the customer less time.......35 years in the trade it alwsys works so thats why.......ignorance is bliss isnt it...
