Hi - See the workshop manual for the correct way to set the tensioner. You should turn the engine forwards 1 5/6 turns before you set the tensioner. There's another 'timing' mark for the crank pulley approx 60° BTDC for the correct position. Chances are your belt will not be as tight as it should if you've set the tensioner at TDC.
