Mazda MX5 OEM Sun Shade Install

Do you need help installing your sun shade for your Mazda MX5 Miata?!?!
I don't, let me teach you how to do it in 7 minutes or less!

Make sure you disconnect the car's positive battery cable before installing. You wouldn't want to short circuit anything. I would like a longer, more detailed install video though, going into more detail on the tools you used, your technical background, etc.

I was googling for images of miata sunshades and saw this video, WTF? Who needs a video for installing a sunshade?! Well, I might not have needed an installation video, but I did need this video. ;) Side note, the reason for my search was I bought a cheap walmart sunscreen and just cut it down to size. Now to put a USS MIATA graphic on is.

Quick tip - it will fit between the seat and door on the passenger side. It barely sticks up above the door opening so its out of the way. And easy to reach from the drivers side, too.

I have a generic 99 cent store sun shade but I cut and trimmed it to the exact windshield size, kept all the black fabric boarder material then resewed/glued it back. Very time extensive, looks ok for now. I'll replace it with a better sunshade or oem Mazda MX5 sunshade in the future.

I bought mine ten years ago . Still working well. If my car is in the sun I put the shade up and crack the top . I already replaced the seat leather and definitely don’t want to do it again.

Fav Vid! Ps- At dollar store; cut/trim, then finish edges in foiled duct tape (metal tape) that’s also at dollar store. Three bucks. Frustrating and doesn’t look near is nice but…if Brandon has you stockpiling; dehydrated potatoes and water, then there’s that Budget Way. 😅

I like the video but it was a little too short. Should I always do the passenger visor first, then the driver visor? Or should I do the driver visor first THEN the passenger visor? If I do it incorrectly will it alter the car’s handling or fuel mileage? Thank you for your help.

Gotta do em at da same time yeah. Can’t make any kine. Here’s how you know. If still get sunlight…. Ting broken. After that you’ll need to restart from the beginning. Car’s handling and fuel mileage shouldn’t be affected as long as you have the e-brake on. Shoots den.

For your right hand drive viewers , remember these are made for left hand drive vehicles so the cut out for mirror is off centre and doesn’t line up for right hand drive … that 7 minutes could get to 14 mins yet !!😂😂

Cover craft probably fits mint too. But OEM or coverraft are the only ones I’d spend $1 or $100 on. Anything else. Pass. Waste of money regardless of car.
