This would have been awesome if it is enabled automatically when you ignite the car. I always have to remember to turn it on when I start my car.
@TheHappyKamper5 ай бұрын
You should've mentioned that once turned on, you can engage it by pressing your foot down on the brake a bit extra till it engages. The brake pedal does 3 things based on how hard you press: 1 Regular brake, no hold 2 Hold the brakes if auto hold enabled 3 Engage i-stop
@StuckInActive7 жыл бұрын
When you enable it and park the vehicle it also automagically engages the parking break. Neat!

I figure it out! You have to press the brake ALL THE WAY DOWN to engage the auto hold. If you press the brake slightly, the green "hold" light will not light up on the dashboard.
@chayablue5157 ай бұрын
That was helpful. I was wondering why it wasn’t working
@dant31135 жыл бұрын
On my brand new cx-5 doesnt work half the time. Since it's a new feature on Mazda it might be a glitch. Luckily I dont rely on it.
@radeksvoboda62526 жыл бұрын
A good point is that it does not hold the car while in reverse. Spare yourself the first surprising reverse crash.

Ha! Great contribution, thank you for pointing that out!

One interesting caveat, you must have your seat belt buckled to use this feature.

I’ve only just discovered what the Auto hold feature actually does, how hard does it hold the brakes?
@whatcarisit66655 жыл бұрын
Christian Woodley not sure I can answer that ... and I’ve never used it on a steel incline either.

If you live in the city, you will never miss using this feature. I realized how dependent I am on this feature when I was driving a different car without this option.
@GuuiYae6 жыл бұрын
i see that function on my Cx 5 2018, i'm still scare to use it :)) bcus i'm afraid if it wont hold, my car will bump into the front car and that will be a big mess. Maybe I'm too old for this new technology.

UPDATE AFTER 4 MONTHS DRIVING CX 5 2018 GT PREMIUM PACKAGE: Everything functioned properly. Eps that automatic hold, very very useful when driving in the city with traffic and a lot of red lights. It reduces a lot of fatigue of driving. I don't need to hold my foot on the break while stopping at the red light.

Once you press it will it be on forever? Like if you turn the car off then back on the auto Brake gold will still be turned on? Or do you have to turn it on every time the car turns on
@StuckInActive7 жыл бұрын
No, you have to re-enable the hold.

It is a shame that the regional mazda agency doesn't provide such a function , even for the speed radar function in grand touring cars,,

Nope brake lights stay on. I use it every day, works perfectly. Just wish it would turn on by itself rather than having to turn it on for every drive.
@ashihtaka3 жыл бұрын
@@conservativedeveloper7289 you have to turn it on at every stop light? Or once you turn it on once it keeps on until you turn off the ignition?
@conservativedeveloper72893 жыл бұрын
@@ashihtaka the latter one. You just press it once and it remains on for the drive. I've gotten in the habit of pressing the button everytike right after I start my car
