Mazda RX2 | Japanese Rocket Smashes Fords & Holdens

We finally made it to the TTT and Super Sprints weekend. In the end we had to take our Mazda RX2 called Leon as we just didn't get Betty's engine finished on time.
Those are the breaks.... but at least we came away with a WIN which gives us a great start to the season!

Haha so true, we are lucky we actually have a few! And... New repop bonnets now exist so we're tossing up buying a few of those to keep the real steel for the street cars. We've had more than one person tell us we are crazy to race a real rx2 😂

Brilliant. Interesting tyre talk, I've just ordered some Nankang NS-2R 185/60R14 for some OG Performance Challengers I'm having machined and painted (homage to Project Pizza) that was owned by a close mate back in the day - that stories for another day, or over a cold tin. If you ever get near Adelaide I'm dead keen for passenger ride or I'll fly myself up for a weekend in maroon country. Roberto - so chilled as a passenger 😎

The NS-2R are also meant to be a really nice performing and priced road tyre. Good choice! Maybe one day! It'd be cool to come to Radelaide for a run at the Bend. It's kind of like he trusts me or something.... he probably shouldn't haha

Hate to tell you but in Australia Capella RE (rx2) came in coupes and 4 door sedans. If your saying coupes are cooler than a 4 door. Each to their own 😊

Everyone knows coupes are cooler, check the price of one compared to a 4 door. But no im saying ive owned a few 4 doors along the way and to my understanding, and ive yet to have it comprehensively disproven, "rx2" only went on 2 doors from factory, the rest are re capellas, therefor NOT an rx2, i know this is a sore point amongst rotorheads of which i am solidly one i assure you, im happy to be proved wrong, no one has yet is what im saying. 🤷🏼

Haha if that's what you like then that's what you like. We have both and I'm partial to both tbh. Actually, rx2 only went on cars in other markets other than Australia. All rotary capella in Australia were known as Capella RE. Piston engines remained as Capella (no re) and in s1/2 didn't get the round tail lights. I'm currently traveling but when home I'll dig up the real Australia brochure Rob has from 1970. In it are all these details.

Gasoline ain't measured in metric , drinks like a yank tank aswell, yeah I also thought surely it's not Lpg, but instinctively knew that it wasn't , how would it have enough fuel pressure and hold enough fart gas
