Great build. A good engine builder, tuner, premix and a responsible owner is all you need to keep it reliable. There are many rotary cars in Central Fl that run strong and are reliable. We are blessed to have Kilo Racing in our back yard. Abel is also a rotary legend so you made the right move by using him to tune your car. No you don't if you look after it, it'll last just as long as a piston engine or even longer if the map is good as rotaries has less moving parts. I have one and I know what I'm talking about. I had a skyline r33 gtr skyline and that gave me more issues than my rotary.

Just to clarify, I like the rotary. I had a 1986 S4 FC3S before my evo. I only sold the RX7 as the roads in my town are shit and the 4WD in the evo is what you need. My FC sat unstarted for two years at one point in storage, started first pop with a new battery. Just don't buy cheap shit aliexpress apex seals and you're sorted. And the R33 is a shitbox all together, no surprises there, id go for the R31 or R32 coupes any day of the week.

My 72 Rx2 2dr coupe has a 13b w/750 Holley. Open up the secondaries it goes from mild to wild & take your foot off & a flame lights up the rear view. It's been in my family since 75. I love it my neighbors not so much.
