Thanks for the kind words :) The Mazdaspeed 2.3L MZR DISI platform has come a long way since it's release, and it's nice to see that we now have the potential to make over 700+ whp with the right setup quite easily. A lot of this information is scattered all over the internet, and just requires a bit of searching. The Pro Tuners for this platform have been having huge success, and we can thank them for their dedication and hard work. We intend to continue sharing knowledge and our own experiences through this channel, and hope that Mazdaspeed enthusiasts such as yourself find it useful :)

Good videos like always!! I was watching a video from my e tuner and another e tuner and they where saying that when swap out the injectors on a 6 port for 2 1000 injectors you can suffer from wet wall manifold. Basically there’s so much fuel that a lot of it stays on the walls and may create a situation where even though your giving more pulse width your not getting more fuel. They said there could also be a delay in the delivery of the fuel causing your car to lean out temporarily. I think most ppl should be fine though since their not fully maxing out the fuel with the 2 1000 injectors. Sorry for my run on sentences lol you guys are dope keep up the videos

How is your car handling so much power on stock block ? Im rolling 285hp and 400nm of torque and I am afraid of bending rods. 18-19.50 PSI
@WannabeTuners6 жыл бұрын
The stock block will last a long time with a good tune and regular maintenance and care :)
@mituc6 жыл бұрын
Stay below 500Nm peak torque (3300-4000rpm) and and not make more than 400Nm below 3000rpm and you'll be fine with the rods. However make sure you're using good oil, that is a very important aspect. the stock block can handle above 400bhp as long as you keep the torque in check. If you go above 350-380bhp depending on the timing you can run, or more exactly around 345-365g/s of air depending on what AFRs you can run with the gas you have access to (I suggest using a WMI system with any turbo larger than the factory K04, and even with that it's a good idea to spray at least water of not water/methanol mix).
@numinous47896 жыл бұрын
@@mituc Indeed, the only thing I'd add, specifically, is for the boost/torque curve and onset to be properly calibrated by the tuner, and for the driver to not go WOT under 3k, nor ever in 6th gear if you're tuned for stock-block power (~500whp max - though that's borrowed time, and ~380wtq max).
@mituc6 жыл бұрын
@@numinous4789 , The problem with high power on stock block is heat which affects pistons and ringlands. WOT below 3k is a potential issue even on the stock tune, but with a larger turbo it becomes kind of a non-issue because the torque comes in more gradually rather than suddenly and you can tune the peak of the torque curve away from 2700-3200 where rods tend to break. There are 2-3 people in the Mazdaspeed community who had 500-550 hp on stock blocks. They lasted 3 weeks of mid abbuse. However 350-420 with a proper spray of WMI (better than in-tank methanol or ethanol mixes IMHO) is usable for a much longer time.

@WannabeTuners6 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! I'd like to eventually tune it to 400 whp with a conservative torque curve on the stock block. After a while I'd like to eventually build the existing block, or build a block on the side for convenience, and then push for higher peak numbers. The goal is to have a solid, fun reliable street car, since it doesn't see the track very often :)

@WannabeTuners6 жыл бұрын
Most guys use a surge tank so that they can install a much larger and capable fuel pump inside it. A surge tank also serves as a way to ensure u have sufficient fuel delivery even if your gas tank is near empty, so using a dw65c to supply a surge tank with a dw65c in it, would only be beneficial when your gas tank is near empty, and wouldn't deliver 'more' fuel so to speak lol. Check out Tuned by Nishans videos. He's got a lot of good info on his channel :)

I’m going top mount setup on my speed6 and I’m just having a little difficulty figuring out the auxiliary fuel options Speed performance seems to offer the right setup but at a high price
@WannabeTuners6 жыл бұрын
I think the easiest and least expensive way is methanol injection, because there are very few parts. A simple throttle body spacer with 1 or 2 large nozzles can deliver a tonne of fuel. But then u have to look after a second tank and pump, and fuel delivery may not be as precise as an actual fuel injector. I can tell u that when we installed the 6th port kit into our car, the custom cold side plumbing was a pain, having to figure out where to put the BPV and all the bends. With full port injection, u wouldn't not need to struggle with custom plumbing like on the 5th/6th port kit, and it may be worth the slightly higher price tag. Also, having to run custom cold side plumbing adds to the price of a 5th/6th port kit. We have noticed that the 6th port kit does indeed cool the boost air temps quite a bit which is beneficial, although probably not as good as methanol would :)
@Mazdaspeedgarage6 жыл бұрын
@@WannabeTuners I appreciate the help and advice . I do agree methanol is the cheapest way to go but it has its limits. I'm definitely going full port injection just having a hard time deciding Weather to go with damondmotorsport ford focus adapter kit with the focus manifold or the port injection adapter manifold that they also just released which utilize our Stock manifold or Corksport manifold. I really like the Corksport Intake manifold because of the design flow and it retain that stock stealth look. I'm still on stock block and my goal is to keep things around the 500hp range 490ish . Any suggestions on which manifold to go with
@WannabeTuners6 жыл бұрын
@@Mazdaspeedgarage I like the corksport manifold because everything stays in the stock location, even the dip stick bracket :) They also rate the flow imbalance at around 2% which is just as good as the ST manifold. I think the CS manifold is the easiest solution

any downsides to runnning 6th port with 2000cc injectors for more headroom with this set up?
@WannabeTuners6 жыл бұрын
None that I'm aware of, but having an even flowing intake manifold is a good idea to promote even fuel dispersion between cylinders, and aside from figuring out custom cold side plumbing, the fuel is delivered accurately before the throttle body which also cools down the boost air temps slightly :)

Be careful with that DW fuel pump, everyone I talked to said to stay far away from it as it doesn't last long and even has issues just operating normally. I picked up an AEM #50-1215 for my PI setup that I am piecing together. After my run with meth, I can honestly say I wouldn't do it again. I wish I went PI from the start and scrapped the meth. My PI kit is going to run me about $1300 (for a deadhead, no return style). So much good info in this video. I see too many people on FB asking about PI and this explains the basics quite well. I always try to spread knowledge as well. TL;DR if you want big power, be prepared to pay for it. PI isn't cheap, but it's the safest bet for more fuel on the platform. Do your research, don't cut corners, and use the damn forums!!!!

@WannabeTuners2 жыл бұрын
You can always run a separate fuel cell that contains pure methanol and run that to compatible port injectors. I'm currently just mixing 2 gallons of methanol per tank of 94 octane through 6th port and it's been pretty good so far, however I'd recommend full port injection (1 injector per runner) for the best possible fuel distribution :)

@@brotherhood_ofstreetracers4268 You can always run an E85 mix. The thing I like about methanol is that I can buy it at the local hardware store and it's always 100% pure, so it takes the guess work out of figuring out the mix. From what I've heard E85 can vary in ethanol concentration during certain times of the year in areas that sell it. My area doesn't have gas stations that sell E85, so methanol is an easy alternative for me.

@WannabeTuners6 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the comment! For that power level, either methanol injection with an adequate nozzle, or 5th/6th port will take u there. The nice thing about a proper full port injection setup is that u have the potential to make well above that if u decide to in the future, since it'll be able to deliver more fuel but is also more expensive and requires more components :)
