I've been finding fully preserved crinoids at mazon. You need air abrasion tools to prepare them but they are spectacular.

It is funny how you pronounce Mazon. I grew up in the area and picked up these fossils by the bucket. They were sitting on top of the strip mines in Morris, IL.

If you can get a hold of a vaccum chamber, you could do your soak in there. That way you could get nearly complete saturation of water (very rapidly too), before you put them in the freezer.

Most collectors of Mazon Creek fossils recommend freezing the concretions (nodules) in WATER, rather than dry, as this lady seems to be doing (at least she does not mention using water). But no matter how you freeze them, it often takes several or more freeze thaw cycles to crack them. Putting frozen nodules into hot water will crack more of them on the first try, but tends to yield inferior results, with nodules splitting or bursting in less than ideal ways.

I am unfamilliar by Creationists and there refrences to time as many date events so long ago differently. Are you refering to BCE when you say 4400 or just exactly 4400 years ago I am also very curious to your explaination why some animals that are found in these rocks are still not extinct while others are extinct? (Such as plants that are extinct despite sharing the same habitat with those that are still alive) Why were they not depicted by early human activites (cave paintings and ancient drawings) why where they not depicted by the Pre flood societies who had no doubt contact with the pre flood Seas I'm not challenging your beliefs, just merely curious as I have no intention on changing your mind and My belief is that fighting or argueing is useless as no sides are truly victorious and both sides always leave unchanged I merely wish to understand your thought processes to better understand creationist beliefs
