@@barbaradumont8672 the song pattern is simple, but Bm is a barre chord, which are a challenge on their own. I recommend finding a lesson specifically on barre chords before you just try it and have a difficult time, to at least get a little exposure and practice. Same chord is used in Cigarette Daybreams by Cage the Elephant, so once you've figured out the Bm, there's another great song to learn.

That is a more difficult B minor !! Look up a site called 'Guitar-chord.org'. The REAL way to play it,(B minor), is NOT a bar chord, okay. It's an excellent site, and it's free !!! I go there when I get stuck, or forget certain chord formations and alternate chords for more difficult chords...check it out !!!

I found that laying off the bass strings between the big accent strums really helped capture the feel of the song for me. It always felt a little off until I started doing that.

Love Mazzy Star. Part of what makes it really easy is how slow it is. I recently borrowed an acoustic from a friend of mine, I haven't played guitar in over forty years when I was a teenager. I had forgotten it hurts to build up calluses 😂 I like your calm teaching style will definitely check out what else you have.

B minor is kinda hard for me to wrap my fingers around but learning to play this with a capo changes the chords altogether and it's even harder. I struggle with pushing all the strings down for the B minor so it sounds icky. Ill keep practicing 🙏🏾🎸

Did you figure it out my dude? You might be holding the guitar incorrectly. You should check out a video on hand position for bar chords. They get easy once you figure out not to squeeze with your thumb and to pull back on the neck with your fretting hand.

One idea if you are a real beginner and are having trouble with that Bm bar chord, you can try this. Use a Capo on the 2nd fret. Then the Chord Progression would be G-D-Am and then a change to C on the chorus.
