I'm SO happy that Simon still wants them to perform on Korean live music shows because it shows their persistence in breaking the stereotypes even without winning these shows. We all know Koreans and the Korean music industry will never let an all-Japanese group who sings only in English win or become no.1 on their chart. I'm also proud of the K-Alphas who came out to support them and chanted along. We all know they aim for global domination and only use K-pop as a platform. XG fighting!

One thing also is that they bring variety to kpop styling with their crazy makeup, hair and outfits. I think it's really important bc kpop stylistically speaking can get really bland so it's Nice to have a group that could drive others to explore with their looks and not be so restricted by the beauty standards. Groups like aespa, dreamcatcher etc could benefit from more experimental styling

I meant to say that it would be a miracle for foreigners singing in another language (which includes all other countries, not just Japan) to win on the Korean gayo chart. They are culturally safeguarding who they like to see at the top (someone who is Korean or sings in Korean). Thanks for sharing, but I know Simon is half Japanese, half Korean, I know XG had their own variety show on MBC, and they work with Korean producers and industry experts. It would still be a tough sell for the general Korean market. My point is that they choose to perform on these live music shows for a reason, and it’s not just about money or contract fulfillment. I even mentioned the K-Alphaz who were there to support them, meaning there are Koreans who love XG. FYI, they’re actually doing great in Japan and getting higher on the Oricon and Rakuten charts. So, I don’t think they wanted to find their way out of Japan.
