At DEFEA 2021 in Athens, Greece, MBDA is showcasing the Exocet MM40 Block 3C anti-ship missile as well as its Exocet Coastal Defense System.
=====================
The EXOCET MOBILE COASTAL DEFENCE SYSTEM provides rapidly relocatable, vehicle mounted capabilities to deny access to surface threats in littoral and strategic areas. The system is based on the latest version of the EXOCET MM40 BLOCK 3 missile in operational service with several navies around the world. EXOCET MM40 BLOCK 3 provides enhanced operational performance utilising advanced technologies.
EXOCET MM40 BLOCK 3’s mission planning automatically computes the required engagement plans to support firing decisions.
• 200 km class effective operational range.
• Anti-ship (as well as littoral and coastal operations).
• Outstanding penetration capability against enemy air defences
The EXOCET MOBILE COASTAL DEFENCE SYSTEM comprises its own sensors (radar, EOS, AIS) for autonomous operations and/or connection to a wider C3I system.
The basic system architecture comprises:
- 1 x Mobile Sensors Unit
- 1 x Mobile Control Unit
- 2 x Mobile Firing Units each with 4 missiles

While the Exocet threat may have been seriously underestimated by the Royal Navy to it's cost Argentina,according to the best intellegence at the time, only possessed 5 Air Launched and whatever Systems that could be taken off Ships and converted to Shore Batteries ( HMS Glamorgan incident ) ,they couldn't sustain enough losses on the RN to put it out of the Fight without exhausting their limited stocks.

Can the battery work fully autonomously, getting targeting info from an suv, ship, further radar? Which means it can stay hidden, drive to the coast, launch and drive to another point in a few minutes?

-in future... the robot sentry will wake up @ 0500, give itself a quick recharge, launch the routine morning recon drone, which upon detects a target it doesn't like and then relays the coordinates to the awaiting unmanned Excocet launcher jeep accordingly, which then rapidly drives said rail to the appropriate coastal launch point to await further commands. Thats my point with greek frigates. U buy coastal batteries and you put them in islands and you give on the ships only air defense missiles aster, in this way you create a safe checkpoint that you can make your jets to travel with fuel tanks without get intercepted by enemy forces and drop the fuel tanks

@captaingreek
@captaingreek 3 жыл бұрын
@@cagatay518 Well if that was true Turkey would build high quality and high tech weapons. They don't. They are using parts from other countries. Canada and Austria stopped providing them with equipment for their UAV and they had to find another market. The same with their tanks and helicopters, for which they didn't have engines. They were even buying spare parts for their F16 that were made in Greece and were sold by Lockheed Martin to them! But what is true is that they have a huge industry. And also, as you very well said, no one wants Greece to have industry. Or pump the oil ourselves. They want us to work for them. Either in Greece or abroad (this is called brain drain).
@cagatay518
@cagatay518 3 жыл бұрын
@@captaingreek it was partly true that Canada stopped selling them camera though they are too late. They already developed their own vision and targeting subsystem called "aselsan-cats". they begin to use that with newer drones. A little bit heavier but more capable. For F16 you are right that they buy some spare parts. but they were also co-producers of that plane (just like F35) since 80s. They even now modernize them by themselves with intelligent avionic systems . Better (or worse) they also developed 2 different air to air missile for these planes (called Bozdogan and Gokdogan, range of 40 and 80kms) and made tests last month. Furthermore They initiated another project to develop a similar missile to meteor missile called gokhan. But i don't know when they will finish. Also 2 days ago baykar company of them announced that they finished first concept design of a unmanned sheath jet fighter drone. For first product they purchase motor from Ukraine. You are right that other countries uses Greece as a market and outpost. You should not bow these elite capitalists, infact they are the greater evil. it is a hard situation, anyways. Take care, Pal. Peace.
