MBDA's CEO on 2023 results, War Economy, Red Sea and Anti-Ship Missiles

MBDA held its annual press conference in Paris today, 13 March. The company’s CEO, Eric Béranger, shared the Group results for 2023 together with some insight into tackling future challenges in the face of growing demand in a complex international context.
Naval News asked him about MBDA's contribution to the "war economy", his views on the best way to counter threats in the Red Sea, and an update on three anti-ship missile programs:

Basically anyone can come up with an idea and everyone offers solutions and invests in the end product like Meteor. European defense industry is geared towards international sales, selling weapons to Gulf Arabs. Europeans must choose between raising retirement age and defense. So far they are prioritizing Social spending.

Éric seems to lack some future vision i hope MBDA should focus on adquire some mid size arms manufecter to boost MBDA capacity to produce more cheap weapons in the field of army infantary, like a option to the RPG 7 and other Russians Thermobaric launchers and more cost effective solutions that is fielded by simple infantary soldiers, and push programs like the Fire -Shadow to completion and push the laser guided Zuni rockets to full prodution and a assembly line for the kamikaze drones the MBDA America need to step up but should move to Canadá because America MBDA will never get a fair share of that market i dont know why they still insist. MBDA need to enter the field of guided rocket artillery and a TBM tactical ballistic missile that rivals the Iskander TBM thats projects that are prioraty to Europe and fast deliver of the Akeron LP but with a decent warhead they already mess up with the Akeron MP that have a ridicolous weak warhead dont make sense MBDA needs to expand alot actually should adquire the Milkor company and maybe some Serbia joint projects because they have good projects that need just some help in finance and mostly expansion to other markets and MBDA already have a huge industrial foot print , but congratulations you guys are the best in the business a bit slower and low risk and lack of decisive action but i know how hard some European countries are. Go MBDA you always makes proud in Europe

More than 80% of MBDA products are French developed and made missiles. More than a European company, MBDA foremost is a French company, and that is why it’s siege is in France.

@@io9883 il s’agit d’une multinationale dont plus de 80% du catalogue sont des missiles français développés soit par la division missile de Matra, ou d’Aérospatiale. Le reste étant développé par les Italiens d’Alenia, Britanniques de Bae Systems, ou allemands.
