I think the gist of their advice is "dump your friends & live peacefully in the knowledge that Megalodons are dead & in hell where they can't hurt you"

jesus those are some awful "friends"

1:48 exposure should be voluntary and in a controlled environment and gradual. This is just re-traumatizing someone and basically they found a weak point, an easy target and now they're bullying their so called friend

This fear isn’t rational, but it is reasonable; lots of things that a person knows don’t exist are still conceptually scary. Vampires are scary, aliens are scary, giant-ass mega sharks are _incredibly_ scary. On a related note, for a long time, whenever I was fully submerged in water and closed my eyes, my mind would immediately jump to the image of a giant squid in dark depths of the ocean.

i was in this really big pool once, much deeper than normal, and as my eyes and brain adjusted to that CONCEPT, it immediately started imagining massive creatures being beneath me, whales, whale sharks.. harmless things, but it still terrified me, just realizing normally large objects can't be that close to you on the vertical axis.

Oh fun this is the exact brand of how my "friends" bullied me for years from elementary through middle school and it took me until nearly adulthood until I realized it was actually bullying and not just me being the comedic relief friend

“They we’re just like- King Shit of Fuck Mountain, huh?” is such a great line and deserves to be immortalized. I’d def buy a t-shirt with the words “King Shit of Fuck Mountain”
Actual reason that we think Megalodon went extinct: Global temperature shifts and changing of hunting grounds as the polar ice caps formed, also aquatic megafauna large enough to sustain them becoming less common.

I briefly did an internship thing at a zoo, and one of the rooms we had to go through required you to walk through a cast Megalodon jaw and mouth. It was radical. Also, large cats get fed snacks called Mousecicles, which are exactly what you think.

That gives me the idea of a gross ice cream place in a zoo horribly themed frozen treats.

all you gotta do is do a bad job cleaning the zoo and the big cats get free fresh mice
