Okay but imagine you're the Red Ranger. You're a TV star to kids around the country, and for a fun romp, you show up at an elementary school as a solid for a crewmate. This adventure goes horribly wrong as you leave the worst final impression, going for a backflip and beefing it. It's a brutal memory, but it's also one that lies only with you and that school, right? Wrong. Because not one, but *two* of those kids became famous and blasted that story to their whole audience. That thought gives me shivers

This is so relatable. As a kid I could do front/back flips on a trampoline easy. When I got to a certain age I just couldn't make myself do a backflip anymore. The nerve of pile-driving your own neck into the ground is a difficult mental barrier to overcome.

The *egregious* things they do to the concept of geometry in this bit are truly haunting Claiming that doing 270° of a backflip would land you at 6 o'clock, which would require the person to start with their head pointing to 9 o'clock, invokes a vision of a man levitating perfectly parallel to the ground and suddenly jerking himself backwards to do a backflip

I did my first cartwheel last year. I'm 25 and it was a weird experience to realise I was learning from a mom blog made for teaching her kids gymnastics I can nail cartwheels on demand now though

I have a friend who wanted to learn to backflip and we all told him that the only reason most people can't do backflips is because they lack confidence. We told him that if he just WENT FOR IT, he would kill it 100% first time. He ended up backflipping off a roof and absolutely destroyed the ground with his 6pm and hasn't been the same since.

@@sophovot5079 griffin refers to his pelvic muscle as his “6pm” because it’s “halfway across the clock”, and your pelvis is halfway down your body (i guess that’s why he says that?) anyways, my friend broke his pelvis.

When I was in gymnastics I did several in a row when learning to backflip on a trampoline, hooked into a harness at first, & for some reason after nailing a few backflips I freaked out mid air & fully just landed on my neck 😭😭 thankfully it was on a trampoline so I didn’t fuck myself up
