Prospecting and sampling old mining claims and dump piles for gold values that may have been overlooked when the price of gold was lower. Bulk testing and sampling gold ore is an important part of gold mining feasibility and profitability, but is often over looked. This video shows how to use MBMM equipment to carry out a bulk sampling and testing plan.

I used to go to an abandoned mine up in North Carolina. The tailing piles there were mixed with low grade and high grade gold ore. They did mostly take the rich veins out the ground and tossed what they thought was low grade in piles outside the pit. I've found nice pieces with wire veins running thru the quartz. It was amazing what the old timers left behind.

I've been trying to learn as much as I can about the Gold mining industry ! I worked as a Millwright for 40 years in the Zirconium metals chemical extraction and manufacturing industry, so I'm familiar with the processes and equipment you use. I have to say that your presentation was absolutely a joy to watch ! New to Gold prospecting, Metal Detecting and finding my own, I have managed to develop a reasonable idea as to how the processes are done and the work involved. Sadly I'm retired and beyond my years physically to indulge myself any further than learning about it ! This video and your "Excellent Presentation" has me inspired to learn much more ! I've enjoyed watching and look forward to more. Thank you, my time spent has been most worth while ! 😉😁😎

At the end you touched on the economics of a complete operation, and I think that subject ought to expanded. Perhaps you could focus future videos on this and talk more about the ancillary equipment needed to round out the whole milling operation of a mine.

Something i found rehabbing an old gold mine was check the dirt under the tracks in the main haulage way. Many old mines that used end dump ore cars had small amounts of fine ore fall out of the cars on to the tracks. this ore was ground under the wheels of the ore cars. if the mine had water flowing out under the tracks the light weight material was washed out and the gold was concentrated under the tracks. the last mine i ran the ties had rotted but the rails were still good. so we lifted the rails and removed the dirt under the ties and put in new ties with mill sand to bed the ties. i ran all the dirt from under the tracks and found it ran about 5 times the average ore grade run from the mine on my impact mill all the discharge went through a circular vibrating screen separator. everything bigger than 80 mash went through a back through the impact mill.
