I have a problem where my remote loses connection mid ride and I always check the receiver for any issues but everything seems fine. The problem comes up once in a while and I fear that it will happen again and cause an accident. Is this a remote issue, receiver issue, or something I’m not seeing here?

Good video but didn’t hear my problem. My problem was I over some small pot holes fast and hard. After recovering my balance but my one wheel motor board stop running. I have stored for two years. I performed visual checks and performed ohm checks on every wire and all good. But when I plug in the battery which still has voltage after storage for 2 years. I plug in it sparks and connection on positive gets burnt. Any suggestions on why sparking.

My urban v1 e skateboard turns on, runs for a minute then off. I havr to plug it into an outlet just to turn it on again. Also my remote battery died before i even got it, it needs a whole new battery. Is there a way i could just rewire it that it powers onto a regular AA battery just to work it? I bought everything brand new on eBay and I knew I'd run into problems. Was too excited to get it anyway.

I got a eskateboard challenger belt drive from onsra last year the battery died first couple days they gave me issues even when I paid for extra warranty. The sent new battery after many debates. Now that battery doesn’t work but my warranty is still valid however they have blocked my messages to them and my phone numbers . What can I do? I would appreciate some advice please as this is my first with skateboards and a company treating me as such.

Very helpful! Good timing on the video. I just built my board and it seems to run at half power. It simply can't pull me up an incline of any grade. Top speed on flat is maybe 10 mph and struggles to pull me from a dead stop on flat. 6374 190kv single belt drive (16/36 gearing) with a 10s ESC and 10s battery. Seems the battery is fine and puts out 41v so I'm leaning towards the ESC being bad out of the box (that's what I get for paying $50 for one from China). Any suggestions would be appreciated. I heard a VESC is preferred for a single 6374 motor. Or any chance it could be the motor?

Most likely the ESC. The odds of a motor being bad is very low. Would definitely recommend switching over to a Vesc when you can. Also double check that your speed mode on the remote is at the highest level.

@@MBoardsco Thanks for the response! Much appreciated. I found the different speed options (without a manual) and it seems I was using it on the highest mode. After running it for about 30 minutes total it seems the ESC was getting very warm and there are overheating marks near the solder (brown in color). Seems it can't handle the amperage. I have decided to upgrade to a Vesc and see if that resolves the problem.

My computer shut down while I was getting the remote set up I tried to re do it I even bought a new remote did I ruin my vesc ? It does my board does everything except allow me to map my ppm remote i tried the whole uar/ppm options on the vesc tool but nothing happens

Hi I just picked up a Lycaon GR. It was super cheap but no charger and remote. I tried to turn on but it just beeps. Can I just get any esc and remote for the board or do I need a Lycaon. I tried contacting the company but no response. Someone said they also have been having issues with Lycaon .

Any chance you can assist? My board seems to pair considering the battery life shows up on the remote. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any acceleration with the board. This board hasn’t ever seen asphalt yet. I purchased it without a remote so I had to buy a universal remote however there doesn’t seem to be any acceleration.

Great Video! thanks for posting. I have a question. while riding about 1-2miles my skateboard just stops moving. everything is on and when you let it rest for about 30 min. it turns on again! Do you know what's the problem? the battery isn't dead or anything I think either the motor just gives up? or doesn't receive power? btw mine looks like the same as yours on the video but mine is 24volts single motor. Thanks for any help!

Esc or motor might be overheating. Feel the motor when it stops. If it’s hot to the touch it could be an indication of overheating

I have used my dual ESC which has 4-speed modes, for a couple of years without any issues, but recently I noticed the speed of 2nd mode drops to a very low. I am not sure what kind of problem I am facing, I don't think I blow up either motor or mos-fet. I think the ESC setting has changed. is there a way to test that? I have those dual SZLY ESC.

Hoping you can help, when pluged in my esc makes no sound whatsoever. Im using 7 cell battery with a 6 and 7 cell esc, from the start ive had trouble, first on off switch was wired incorrectly so had no functionality. Ive bypassed it so it should be on when connected to the battery. Still no sound, remote seems paired and shows full battery level. The 7 cell jumper is connected. Could it just be its a faulty esc or is there something else to consider. I had assumed once on switch was bypassed it would beep when battery is connected but nothing happened

Just add some more details I checked my battery which I made myself but works perfectly I've checked my charger all are giving proper voltage and amperage according to their specs however I have never seen a light come on on my ESC also the on-off switch was faulty it wasn't fact reverse wire the light on the auto switch failed to come on I corrected the wiring the light came on and then I realized that the switch itself is broken and there's no click when you push it in or no it doesn't recognize that it's been pushed so I rewired the on-off switch the LED started to work but the on-off switch itself was broken and doesn't click when pressed or make any other indication that it's understood the intent so to speak so I slipped the wires removing the on-off switch it twisted them together bypass gets so it should just come on when I plug into it even still I can't get my ESC to make any noise it seems to have no life whatsoever no lights come on and no sound is made at this point I'm thinking that my ESC is faulty from the factory and will need to be replaced I'm running a 7s setup but it's very high amperage my cells are reading 10000mah each after being fully charged I know the ESC should have a high and low voltage cutoff it also has a have a high amperage cut off is it possible it has an over a cut off as well I'm running 10000mah cells and running seven of them for 70 amp total.

If im over amperage i can order new cells, but it would still come on and give me a beep code right? If your on off switch is in the off position will the esc still light up? Since i bypassed my on switch it should just come on right away so im assuming mine is on, ive also tried removing it to place the switch to the off position then connected battery then connect the bypass but not even a light or beep, am i missing something else?

Hey what a coincidence ! Yesterday I went on a long ride, drained the battery completely empty (the board completely stopped and wont turn on anymore). And now it wont charge anymore. I heard somewhere that the battery (10s) voltage might be too low for the charger to start charging. I'm gonna get myself a mutlimeter to check. Do you have any tips to get the battery to charge again in the meantime ? I tried using a drill to make the motor rotate and hopefully trigger some battery regen but after 10-15 minutes of that I saw no improvement.

@@WilliamCronin It won't even turn on so that I could brake. I can turn it on while the charger is plugged though. That's why I tried making the motor rotate with a drill. I don't know how long it should take to recharge enough like this, if it does at all.

@@melkorWTF you can open the battery up and charge the battery without the bms and that should work, find a tutorial online in some esk8 forms or buy a new one

I'm a "newbie" to electric skateboards & was gifted one to fix ...if possible? Boosted Mini type (I guess?) It has two "dead" lead acid batteries 12v 7Ah, (1) 7.5 inline fuse. I would like to do a bench test on motor using a 12v 825 cranking amps car battery, is this wise ? Also, what would be a better battery replacement (gel, lithium, etc?) Thanx

Do those cheap battery packs come with a BMS? Or the controller just cuts the voltage as soon as the first cell is on 4.2v 100% charge?

Bought a Teamgee H5 directly from them (1st mistake) and it has stop working after 6 months. Won't start, battery reads 41.5V and charger reads 42v. Teamgee says I need a new battery, but I am not buying anything from them. Power switch doesn't light up not even when we connect the charger. No repair shops in my area, looking for any advice to locate the failure and see if it is worth the money to repair it. It has been lightly used, less that 20 hours...

That sounds like an ESC issue if it won’t power on with a charger plugged in. But would have to pull the electronics out to be sure.

Yeah I got a question I troubleshooted my board with every step that you suggested and I still just can't figure it out, for some reason my board will not turn on when I press the power button but then when I plug the charger into the skateboard then I can it'll turn on and it works just fine the wheels will turn and everything but then as soon as I unplug it all the power goes off and I checked the voltage on the battery and it read fine and then I also plugged the battery into the main cable that goes back to the ESC and check the voltage on the cable connecting to the ESC and it still read same thing it was fine is my ESC just fried or what? thanks

Typically that would be a voltage issue. If your battery isn’t holding a charge you may see reduced speeds.

@@MBoardsco must be some boards that are labeled wrong purposefully then? I'm controlling my fsesc 6.6 with an arduino, standard tx->rx, rx->tx on that one at least, since its a common serial protocol. Love the channel, keep it up!

Ahh with Arduino yes it is flipped. But when working directly with a Vesc and a receiver you match it.
