Featuring the Porter Square high speed sub-trackbed Canal system and the automatic third rail water deluge system that feeds it!
What may become a series of shorts about the quantifiably evil transit "system" that are Boston's ex Rapid Transit lines
This footage filmed by Braeden Coughlin and used with permission

Here Alex really looks like one of those paranormal mystery and ghost hunting show hosts... I imagine a program with such a theme, showing the horrors... of the deficiency of railroad companies.

It is some of the most disgusting and anti-human architecture I've ever seen, just like what they are shamelessly building above ground now.

Sigh. It's always so incredibly odd to see great infrastructure in Europe that was at least partially built with USA's marshall help after WW2 (which by now has all been paid back), and then to see how dilapidated everything is in the USA itself. Berlin's light rail and subway systems are top notch. They were gloomy in the cold war times, but by now it's the best system i've ever traveled on.

This reminds me of an highway housing they built near where I live. It was intended to protect surrounding villages from the noise from the highway. The housing now projects the soundwaves in two directions onto hillsides that somehow reflect the noise into the valley the villages are in and it´s now louder or more audible than before. Classic example of tax money at work. 😂

American and italian subway systems have something in common, they look like subway tunnels from Metro 2033. Made me have an newfound appreciation for brazilian subway systems (besides the ridiculous above ground parts of it that only serve to slow down traffic when it rains)

Heh, the "noise-canceling" feature sounds very similar to WAMATA (DC metrorail system.) I suppose one silver lining could be that all of the water would prevent fires but... It doesn't. Each day I wonder whether the system will wipe us out by fire, flood, or electrical shock. But, it will likely be the horde of rats that are somehow immume to the other three dangers.

Hydro turban? The track system described was used in New York from the 1930's; supposed to be cheaper and more durable. Rust never sleeps, eh?
@AEKarnes
@AEKarnes 4 ай бұрын
That is not correct, you are thinking of NYC's type 2 and type 2 modified, which is wooden ties inset into roman concrete as a gauge holder. There is nothing remotely resembling floating and unsupported pads at play. Type 2 modified is some of the strongest and most robust track ever created for rapid transit

@@AEKarnes I stand corrected; you know your technical trivia. old fashioned wood and stone is still the quietest, keep posting! Some years ago I made many a pilgrimage to 10 Park Plaza to warn them of the issues you cite, and would look forward to the intelligent exchange of information.
