@@nicholasfarrell5981 I like to play garbage sometimes as long as there's legitimate synergy and surprisingly, there is very real synergy here because of the card Bonding - DHO. The card shuffles into deck from hand or gy 1 each of duoterion, hydrogeddon, and oxygeddon to summon a water dragon or water dragon cluster from hand or gy. From gy it can also banish itself to search a water dragon or cluster. I played it and duoterion at 3 because duoterion searches it. I then also played 1 each of the others and I think a couple cluster. Lightsworn at the time was just really good in duel links and already being played in stuff like witchcrafter and was a very efficient engine to get all this stuff in grave and could even get an extra copy of DHO out of my hand with lumina so I could search cluster if it was the last piece I needed. Lightsworn also provided effective removal for backrow so I could safely bring in cluster to enable an otk. The deck was not good. The deck was barely consistent and sometimes even failed to otk. I loved it anyway.

That Kozmo one particularly hits, because I've been on the delivering end of that. Back when Master Duel came out, it was my re-entry into the game after like 2019ish, when Duel Overload and it's list of felons single-handedly pushed me out for a few years. Once I had made my beloved Vampire deck, there was still room for me to tinker, so I built Kozmos as kind of a joke, because it's been a pet-deck of me and my friend for years. What I didn't expect was absolutely trashing my friend's Sky Striker build and ranking up into Gold rank without so much as breaking a sweat off the back of this janky 2015 archetype. For a bit, I was absolutely confused. I knew in my bones these guys weren't good, but the results were not lying. This didn't last, because the minute Swordsoul came in and showed me what a YGO deck looked like at the time, it all clicked. Kozmos are not good, but they have specific ways in which they troll certain strategies and having semi-safe access to banish-floodgates let's them cheat wins really efficiently in a best-of-1 format.

@@kidumby7599 earth machine has been out since early 2020 in a recognizable form, astral kuriboh came out in late 2021 so we know the time period and that every single out i mentioned has been out before it even existed as a functional deck and well before this duel occured. They are all one card combos into an out, of which there are 12-15 starters an earth machine deck plays on average with a consistency of over 85% in its opening hand. Considering leo has to be out for 3 turn cycles we can assume the earth machine player saw atleast 8 cards through the minimum 3 turns and that gives them atleast a 98.5% statistical probability of seeing an out within the first 8 cards they drew. If we count the generic outs the deck plays it grows to nearly impossible to not see an out. So again i move the blame to the player not the deck. Do you have any other doubts?

The first round, I lost to a stall deck who did not declare a single attack because I played hyper turbo and decked myself out. That said, I did win Game 2 with Gimmick Puppet of Leo using 3 JDs. My friend nearly ran out of the building because he never saw that card work before lol

Barbaros Skill Drain win in POTE format? That's cool, I think! Barbaros is one of my favorite "archetypes" (it is considered its own archetype on Konami's official YGO deck search site) in the game, and I've been struggling to find a good way of using it. I would love to see this deckbuild. I've actually not been on the receiving end of this kind of bad matchup BS, to my knowledge... but I sure as hell have been on the giving end! Two instances I remember was frustrating a Chaos Yata-Lock player during its prime with a rather crappy feline-themed bounce control deck (he ultimately got the lock in, but it took some time, and he actually congratulated me on it, at the end; that was the time that I realized that even bad decks, if build well and in certain matchups, can beat a top deck), and when I went to locals and whupped a couple of top-strength Mecha Phantom Beast players with Wanghu stun (that deck is still one of my favorites to this day, and I'm so glad it got new legs with the release of Menghu).

It is an archetype, King Beast Barbaros supports it
@jeremyadkins96652 жыл бұрын
@@manjackson2772 Yeah, I find that funny; Barbaros has 3 cards to its name, and it's only an archetype because the newest card has an effect that mentions "Barbaros" specifically. I remember, when they were making that poll for what structure deck people wanted made, back in the day, Barbaros was one of the options, which seemed weird to me, but I'm thinking that King Beast Barbaros was a result of that poll.

A couple weeks ago, I took a game from a playing Branded. We had both bricked on hand traps and his field consisted of Albaz and an 1800 guy. I beat him by tribute summoning Psy-Frame Driver and attacking.

So I was at a random location nearly 10 years ago. Think of it like a party, but without the partying. In the middle of a game against this one dude, he flips Torrential Tribute (the fake one from the Ultra Rare Packs) and immediately pointed it out. He legitimately tried to tell me "No it's not. I got it from an Ultra Rare Pack!" so I went to borrow a friend's laptop that was there so I could look up the story of it and show it to him. After reading it (while playing a game against some kid), he immediately goes "Wellp, fuck this game. I quit. You guys can have my cards. I don't even care!" and he storms out of the room. We were so astonished that everyone was legitimately frozen as if time had stopped for a good 10+ seconds before someone comes into the room going "wtf just happened?" ... Afterwards, I went through all the cards and pulled out all the fakes, pocketed them while telling everyone I was going to burn them outside later, and let the rest of the people there have the rest. For anyone curious, the collection had nothing really desirable. The most-valuable non-fake card the guy owned was an ultra rare - Seven Tools of the Bandit from w/e the first set it came out in is called. I forgot the name. The rest were commons, rares, and a couple super rares.

I Remember beating my friend's Glad beast deck at our locals....with Cloudians. Well, the Cloudians didn't really beat him, I D-prisoned his Laquari on his first attack and he just never came back from that. It was hilarious

Notes from an Ancient Gear Mechanic; Before I got hired by the garage, I'm not proud to admit I was a Red-Eyes Thug. I got into a Best of 7 feud with some Archfiend idiot. My record in that was 2 wins, 2 losses and 3 draws.... Pilot Trevelyan signing off, Game Over!

Back when i had sacred beast structure deck as my only legit deck, i was playing with a friend that has a 40 card pile deck with garbage, like 20 goat staples (no pot of greed and degenerate stuff tho), monster reborn, mirror force, chaos sorcerer, stuff like that, and other stuff rank 4 enables such as goblinbergh and kagetokage I once lost to him, after i boosted my Raviel's attack to 8k, trying to swing for game, but earlier in that turn he removed my field spell, and i didn't have ways to stop its magic cylinder from resolving...

So, I have one of these stories, but I'm the villain here. The Knightmares just came out and I recognize that they have arrows and can extralink. So, I play ABC Ojama Extralink. I went 3-1 at locals that week. Only loss was against True Draco. Turns out, when search Hurricane with Ojama Pajama and pitch your Ojamagic you go +3 and also cause tremendous Psychic damage.

My roommate and I have been privately playing our own spinoff of the progression series. We were in one of the gx sets and i was playing this really stupid king of the skull servants deck that was meant to get king really really big and kill you with double strike. Unfortunately, i bricked both games and my roommate was playing cybernetic cyclopean beat down. He unironically played pot of generosity to get it to 2400 attack and managed to win. I fully admit I deserved to brick and lose to it but holy hell i will never forget that thing.

Oh a funny Scenario like that happened to me this weekend during the 3v3 Side Event in YCS Utrecht. My friend got his turn and played VW Handloop with 3 Trish... Banishes Necroface from Hand. OK, Trish Number 2... Banish Necroface. Surely not a third time, right? Yep so my friend decided to go Enterblathnir and banish the last card from the Opponents hand which ofc was Number 3... So during his turn we lost because he decked himself out

I lost to the one of morphing jar #2 in my opponent's prediction princess deck. Got rid of everything except my pep and I was short of having lethal. Slowly withered away after that as I had blown my decks engines comboing when I didn't need too.

Man I've got a laundry list of embarrassing losses I bought 3 of the Geargia structure decks and mashed them together and asked my brother, who hasn't played Yugioh in 10 years up to this point, to help me playtest it. Turns out my Geargia deck has absolutely no way to climb over Gem Knight Pearl. Nothing. Then there's the time I was playing a very meta (at the time) Chaos Dragons deck vs my friend who was new, he was running some Frankenstein'd build of Mermail Atlanteans. I laughed, until he dropped Abyssgunde and EQUIPPED THREE MIKAZUCHI ON IT ON TURN 1. The cherry on top was him flipping Anti Spell Fragrance on my draw step. One of the video games, the computer summoned fucking Dark Sage on me and I just didn't have the manpower to beat it. Yugioh has been such a wild ride throughout my years.

I remember going to a regionals with U.A. in college. I didn't have a lot of money and really enjoyed the archetype. There was a lot of Shaddoll and BA, and I performing very well. When l I got to round 5, I started losing. I think that was due to my misplays rather than the deck.

Sort of the opposite end for me. Was playing Timelords back when only half of them were printed and going against full power firewall linkspam back when links were first released. Guy makes a full U-link and negates my Dark Hole. Normal summon Metaion and have him bounced when moving to Battle Phase. Activated Celestial Transformation to summon Metaion again and opponent instant scooped

One I will never forget? Kozmo Magician Pendulum back JUST before the end of Kozmo format. Dude pend summoned then got out 2-3 dark destroyer multiple games in a row against me. Told me "this is where Kozmo is going once it gets hit. I'm taking it to regionals" and shit but I wasn't convinced (and still aren't) that pendulum decks are ever better with a bunch of non pendulum monsters in the main deck. *cough cough* trif *cough cough*. Needless to say I never saw the dude play that deck again so he was wrong.

I used to run what I called level 1 stall and draw, I went even in a ycs with it somehow using triple upstart (when it was legal), triple solemn wishes, piper draw engine, level limit area b and gravity bind, arcana force 0 the fool and aroma jar, battle fader, swift scarecrow and cyber valley, final countdown and then the spice of double localized tornado to never run out of cards

I rarely lost to jank at my locals, mostly because they all play meta, but I sure was on bullshit myself, especially while I was still poor and new to the game. Namely, my pet deck that I will be reviving from the dead post-DABL: Dinomist. Back in TOSS format I had a match where I won game 1 by sniping 4 Dangers in a row under Abyss Dweller, lost game 2, then game 3 I sided into 3 Thunder Dragon and 2 Colossus and just about gave my opponent a heart attack. That was literally the only match I remember actually winning with that deck.

1. It's a meme with me and my friends that if you lose to blue eyes, you should either dismantle your deck or quit yu gi oh. I've lost to blue eyes with adventure plunder patroll, salamangreat, and branded despia 2. One of my friends one tricks UA. I don't think I've taken a game off him with any deck I play 3. I also remember losing to a 60 card reptile pile that smacked me with an evil dragon ananta for like 11k damage on turn 4 or 5. I then proceeded to hit copy on that deck and I now play reptile pile as well because winning with vennominaga is the only thing that brings me joy anymore

When I was in school I played with a guy who played what turned out to be a fake Vampire Lord with the effect that every time I tired to attack he could switch the target and insisted he could switch it to one of my other cards and would argue with you if you told him thats not how card effects work, finally I would just have 1 monster with more attack like summon skull to try and destroy his "Vampire Lord" but he then insisted that he could switch the target of the attack right back at me instead. I stopped playing with him after that.
