A little bit out of the "proper furry" territory, but I feel like the animal that would fit MBT's personality the most would be the Parus Major (or great tit; don't laugh I don't make the rules). They're tiny colorful, vociferous critters, a bit grouchy, acrobatic and funny to look at. When they feel threatened, instead of fleeing away they will lower themselves and produce a whistle, snake-like sound, to scare predators away. They manage to live both in urban zones or country sides. Shrewd, smart and somewhat tenacious lads.

Going over a few things I’ve seen in these comments, and some of my own ideas… Otter Something about the fur reminds me of his hair. That sort of… short and combed look. Other than that, otters are often depicted as funny, whimsical, and occasionally completely unhinged. The only aspect that doesn’t fit is that much like foxes, otters are often depicted as somewhat slutty. So I’m not sure this works with the massive waves of virgin energy that always pour off him, despite him having a wife or whatever. The association with scallops is hard to pass up though. Tanuki BIG FAT BALLS But also, wily little rascals! Much of the appeal of raccoons, but without the vaguely malevolent connotations, and the less intense fur patterns let you get away with more in coming up with your own design. Mouse Yeah, rat is the funny meme, but MBT just doesn’t have the dangerous energy needed. Mice are demurer, but still kinda associated with feral craziness. It’s fitting enough. And he kinda looks like one (complimentary). Dog Probably a golden retriever. The ordinary white guy of fursonas. Boring, but not unfitting. Robot Of course, this rather goes against the spirit of a fursona, unless the robot takes the form of an animal. So this doesn’t really help us. Still, as something else to throw on top of the base species, I think it’s fitting as an homage to MBT’s “MonoBlueTron” artifact-loving origins. And his current mascot character, while I’m pretty sure it’s just based off the guy from the Thirst for Knowledge MTG card, it does nonetheless look kinda like a cyborg or something. Scallop This is very much an obscure pick; it would be very unique in the world of fursona design! I’m somewhat hesitant to suggest it, as it’s obviously a meme, but a creative artist could do something cool with it. Cat He did dress up as a catboy one time. Eh. And the ear headband had black fur instead of WHITE so obviously that’s non-canon. I’m against this one.
