I don't know what's weirder, seeing Alex Trebek rap or the fact that I knew the answers to all of these.

Most Jeopardy questions have two or three tips to the question in the answer- they just usually aren't so...popular...?
@skipsch10 жыл бұрын
It was Melle Mel who said that. Grandmaster Flash was the DJ.

Not sure what's funnier, Kebert Xela having no idea what rapping is or that soccer mom-looking woman who seemed quite well-versed (see what I did there?) in rappers' names.
@Flashpoint92210 жыл бұрын
So every rap fan has to be a thugged out gangsta to enjoy hip hop? Close minded of you to think
@lilwyvern410 жыл бұрын
Flashpoint922 I never intended it that way; I merely stated that she doesn't look like your typical rap listener.

Grandmaster Flash didn't rap that line, Melle Mel did, Flash was the founder and DJ of the group but Melle Mel wrote and performed (read: rapped) the vocals on The Message from which those lyrics are quoted.

Shouldn't the answer to the first question be Melle Mel?
@Goat7410 жыл бұрын
Most definitely. I almost yelled at the TV last night. Almost.
@MrKlevir110 жыл бұрын
It definitely should, but I think they are going based on the artist name for the track "Grand Master Flash & The Furious 5- The Message" although all true Hip Hop heads know it was Melle Mel spitting the lyrics to the Message. Unfortunately by then Grand Master Flash was hardly part of the group, Sugar Hill records was just cashing in on the name.
@ollieill110 жыл бұрын
Joey Bravo I just recently learned about that hustle Sugar Hill records pulled on Grandmaster Flash. Insane, but at least he won the lawsuit. Similar to how in the '50s-'60s a producer would suggest a lyric change on one line for a famous singer or group and then 50% of the profit on unit sale for being "co-writer."

I cringed a little bit when they gave credit to Grandmaster Flash, the DJ pioneer, instead of Melle Mel, a pretty famous M.C. who is upfront right there in the video.

This is lovely. But Grandmaster Flash never was a rapper (he is a DJ), and it was Grandmaster Melle Mel who rapped the lines referred to in the first clue.
