This is one of many Hammer videos that was super lit. There was a TV network in Oakland that Hammer and all of the artists on his record label DOMINATED. Love him. This was definitely in my day when we used to dance. Not bounce and point like the younger generation. See how you're dancing as you watch it? This is the kind of entertainer and music that makes you want to dance.

This was 80’s music and it definitely hit the US hard!! 17 when this came out and let me tell you there was no one like him. He was innovative and with 357 behind him moving he was unstoppable. Like all good things they have to come to and end.

This video brings back good old memories I remember when my cousin coming down from Atlanta and he gave me a haircut a day before spring break was over with she asked me what kind of haircut I wanted I said I didn't know so I turned on the TV and it was on MTV my cousin said hell no turn it to yo MTV Raps I said what's that because my dad was dating a white woman and all she listened to was white music that's why I really didn't know about MC Hammer until that day and when I seen that dude dancing I said I want MC Hammer on my head so my cousin gave me a hair fade and put MC Hammer on the right side of my head and Drew a hammer on the left side seeing Hammer Time when I went back to school all 1200 students was staring at me hard not only I was clean with the new clothes and the Jordan shoes I had on that came out that year but I was also smelling good and had that cold-blooded haircut so yeah a big shout out to my homeboy MC Hammer

Babe this was 1988-1989. Not the 90s. It was my junior and senior year when this dropped. I am Class of 1989. Look babe girl. We partied ourvasses off. Concerts back then had minimum of 30k in arenas. Maximum 50k - 100k in attendance no matter what genre of music. House parties OMG !!!! Block parties, apartment clubhouse parties !!!! Lake parties back in the 80s !!! Clubs popp'in !!!!!!! The Quiet Storm on your local radio station. Skate rinks jumping off ! Arcades were great ! High School football & basketball games were like a local NFL & NBA back then because ppl had amps and subwoofers in their rides then and jamm'in at the local games thatvwere packed to capacity. That all was big time shit back then ! God i miss those days. I am 51 now and still fit because i still do all those dances and still brak dance too. Fashion wise you had to be fresh. FILA, Adidas, Puma, GUESS, Coca-Cola clothing rugby shirts, Polo, Liz Claiborne, Dooney & Burke, Luis Vuitton, Swatch Watch, Gibraud, GQ frame glasses, Cazal glasses/specks. Girls had mudhroom cut hairstyles and crimps. bamboo and door knocker earrings. Uour jewelry game had to be tight. Today they have no sence of any of the before things i mentioned.

Born late 90s huh ? I was born 5/11/1971. Class of 1989. Back in those days we were at the parks, skate rinks, malls and arcades. House oarties, block parties. Nice video. I’m here cos MC Hammer “Pump It Up” is one of my favorite songs/video. You commented on the dancing in the video but I don’t think u mentioned anything about the song. This is one of Hammer’s best songs and he wuz spitting some dope lyrics. If you are interested in old skool rap videos, there is none greater than Public Enemy “Night Of The Living Baseheads”. You will not find another rap video better than that. Special Ed “The Mission” is also very good. For dancing, check Big Daddy Kane “Lean On Me”, B-Fats “Music Maestro”, Kid n Play “Do This My Way”.
