Mc hammer had publicly Challenged Michael Jackson to a dance contest back in the 90’s. This video was to “get Michael to except the challenge”. The contest never happened but would have been interesting to see.

Oh wow. That's very interesting. I can't believe I'd never heard about that. I appreciate the info! I'm going to look more into it now, I love learning more about music history.

There are three versions of this video (long, short and the get buck remix). You two should review “This is the way we roll”, Count It Off” and “Here Comes the Hammer” by MC Hammer.

Man, super incredible and fabulous. To get the Godfather to be in the video is the ultimate. MC Hammer was so popular at this time. This video shows how extremely hot Hammer was. Thank you so very much for this exciting long video.

just some guy from montreal here. this has GOT to be my favorite reaction video to a music video ever 😂 #1 the commentary: i honestly couldn't tell WHEN you guys were being facetious & when you weren't lol #2 the ralph tresvant doesn't get enough credit mini-rant was a nice touch. clearly i prejudged russ because i wasn't expecting that. #3 i honestly think longform video reactions should be your thing, guys. how about the "can you feel it" vid by the jacksons?
@InfectiousGroovePodcast6 ай бұрын
Haha so glad you enjoyed the reaction!! We have a lot of Michael Jackson content on the channel, including a reaction to the full Captain EO film. We can certainly put Can You Feel It on our list :)

@@InfectiousGroovePodcast as a first timer/now insta-fan of you guys (honestly most reaction videos are so BORING but you guys aren't)--i'm definitely gonna check out the "EO" one. don't forget to shout out your new fan ("Blair from Montreal") when you get to "can you feel it". 😎🇨🇦

My feelings on this video are that maybe james Brown or Hammer stole MJ's glove and did the hand signals at the end. The footage of MC on the tv screen is a recording from a much earlier performance. There's more questions than answers in this 🤔
@InfectiousGroovePodcast6 ай бұрын
Totally agree. We had a blast with this reaction but yeah, there's SO much happening that we were confused by the end 😂

The Godfather told Hammer to go out and get the Approval of The Glove, that he was more than a one hit hip-pop Rick James sampler. In the end he earned respect for being another ‘hardest working man in show business’ real deal entertainer. We were all on board the Hammer train, until it got derailed by anti-pop culture. They robbed him blind and made him look like a joke, and he never recovered. It happened a lot in the early 2000s.

We hear you on those points for sure. We were just having some fun in this video but it really is a shame what happened to artists like TLC, Hammer and many others
