I made this clip for the BBC years ago. Filmed at a now-closed gym on Haverstock Hill (North London), my mates and I used to call it “gym on a pill”. I remember it took ages to film, with both Det and Skibadee lifting weights the whole time; very demanding to lift and MC at the same time but they did it like it was nothing. They soldiered on all afternoon. Great professionals, a real pleasure in person and for me ‘childhood legends’ I went to rave after rave to listen to. I’m grateful for all the raving memories and for the times I got to film with them. RIP Skibadee

Why did you call it gym on a pill?

@@MrHavokman Because the place was called ‘Gym on the Hill’ and pill rhymes with hill - also we figured a lot of the guys in there were juicing. Should make it clear, it was not Det’s or Skibadee’s gym, it was just a location we provided that they filmed at for the day.

This clip is only one bit of a longer piece that included other MCs doing acapella stuff... From memory, I think the other MCs were Killer Kella and PSG
