Any thoughts on best practices when migrating/transfering settings from an MC8 (8 buttons) to a MC6 Pro? Re-doing all my settings would take forever.... I can't find any documentation on your website. Thanks in advance.

@@bjrobertson5683 Hi. You just need to back up your entire MC8 to your computer and upload it to your MC6 PRO. The same way we explained at 7:48. Your extra switch presets (8 will overflow to the next page. So G and H will end up on page 2 of each bank on your MC6 PRO.

I just got my MC6 PRO a couple of weeks ago and I love it! It's almost like the guys at Morningstar Engineering actually play live...8) PROS: 1) Bright displays that are easy read while standing. 2) Intuitive programming interface. 3) Multiple messages per switch press. 4) Easy use for "stomp mode" users like me. CONS: 1) The User Manual is a hot mess. I would highly recommend this MIDI controller for the live player.

These are great upgrades. I personally wouldn't need any other features than the improved screen, colors, icons etc, and even that is a convenience, not a need. Maybe the usb host and relay switching ports might come to use some day. I'll stick to my MC8 for now, but just seeing those nice screens makes me feel joyful and bubbly inside 😅 Unlike the dull screen of MC8, that wouldn't have impressed anyone even in the 90's. If MC8 Pro comes out I'll buy that Edit: More banks and pages is obviously really nice too, although I definitely don't have need for them. But many people would benefit from those too

Great video. I'm probably jumping the gun, but I would like to see a video putting the MC6 Pro on a pedalboard. Yourvideos are typically short, sweet, and concise. But I think this controller needs a longer video in a real world application. Hope you can do this. Still loving my MC8 and ML5. Take care.

Hi, thanks! Yes, that would be great. There are quite a few users who have posted such videos of our controllers (earlier models), showing their specific use cases. These include videos by Mark Johnston, Nobes Music and Worship Tutorials. As our controllers are fully customizable and every user has different needs, we tend to focus more on demoing general capabilities that everyone can benefit from! But do check out the aforementioned videos if you are keen to see our products being used in real world applications.

I just watched 3 of your videos as introductions to midi and this unit, and I have a question - Can I have 3 midi pedals connected to the MC6 Pro, and also have them assigned individually to the EHX Super Switcher? Basically I'd like to daisy chain 3 midi pedals and have them be controlled by the MC6, but still be able to call each of the 3 (and my other pedals) individually via the Electro Harmonix Super Switcher. Thank you, couldn't find this clarification anywhere.

Yes, no issues with that. You can connect the audio ins and outs of your pedals to the EHX super switcher and still be able to control them via MIDI with your MIDI controller.

Hey there, are there options to daisy chain the MC6 Pro to effectively provide me with 12 footswitches for custom MIDI messaging?
@MorningstarEngineering3 ай бұрын
Yes, you can connect 2 MC6 PROs and have them bank up/down in tandem and control each other. The best way to do this would be to connect the USB Host Port of MC6 PRO 1 to the USB Device Port of MC6 PRO 2. When you scroll up/down through banks on MC6 PRO 1, MC6 PRO 2 will follow and match the banks too. You will also be able to send MIDI messages from one to the other.

Do these work for controlling Reaper on a PC? I've been stuck not writing/recording due to my old digitech gnx3 finally kicking the bucket, it was a beat for having an 8 track recorder with looping. I can probably do all of that and more by just using a controller for Reaper on my laptop though. I probably wouldnt use the full potential of this unit though, I just need to be able to hit record and stop with a footpedal instead of the mouse.

Hi. Our MIDI controllers are widely used to control DAWs and music software too. We made a video about controlling Ableton. While it is a different software from Reaper, you can see the capabilities of our MIDI controllers in the context of DAW control. The concepts of keystrokes and MIDI mapping are the same for Reaper. can an aux port be used to switch on or off a non midi pedal such as a MXR phase 95?

Honest question from a newbie to MIDI and switching: why choose the MC6 Pro over the RJM PBC/6X? I am trying to decide between the two.
@CitAllHearItAll Жыл бұрын
The 6x is a more focused controller. It’s for controlling a pedalboard, including re routing the effects chain for up to 6 pedals/paths. The MC6 Pro sacrifices this use case focus in favor of covering a wider variety of applications. For example, MC lis a better fit for using midi to control plug-ins, expand modeling pedal control (Helix, Quad Cortex, etc). Each foot switch having its own screen real estate makes live use easier, as it’s quick to associate what each switch does, along with its state. Get the 6x if you’re looking to use individual pedals and want to make it easy to reroute, add, or swap pedal placement in the signal chain without having to physically reroute the signal path. For me, the MC is the better fit. I’ll sacrifice re routing the signal chain for visual feedback on switch assignment and state.

Why you don't produce MC8 anymore?, I'd rather have the old MC8 than this PRO version of the MC6 because the price of this is now higher than the previous MC8, you should also put an effort to have a proper deal with a courier in Europe for better distribution because your authorized resellers don't have any stock and want to charge TWICE the price of your price list putting the excuse of "taxes", VAT in Europe is 21% so the shouldn't be charging almost 80% or more as they do here in Spain!, for example Chase Bliss (a smaller company than yours) have an excellent service and we can now buy their pedals in Europe for almost the same price as the U.S. with shipping and taxes included and 2-days delivery

Hi. Thank you for your feedback. It is duly noted and we will work on ways to improve this. We posted some information regarding the product stock situation in our forum. You can find it here: forum.morningstar.io/t/about-the-mc3-6-8-and-ml10x-stock-situation/4982 Regarding EU availability, do bear in mind that the dealer prices already include shipping cost, VAT and import duties.
