Lovely guy and one of my favourite musicians. So self-effacing as well. Saw him several times with the Byrds in the early 70s but my favourite memory is of a brief chat with him in Buxton, Derbyshire, about July 1994. He was then with Meridian Green, performing in a pub venue to a small but very enthusiastic audience. During our conversation, I'd asked him if he'd be playing "Quiet Joys Of Brotherhood" or "Chief Seattle" to which he'd replied yes. Needless to say both were immaculately performed and he dedicated them to me from the "stage"....well, more of a "corner" really. That was a great feeling!! Thanks for the upload. Much appreciated....

Such an interesting and self-effacing interview. Loved Gene's work with the Byrds and still do. So good to see that he is still sharing his talents and charm.

What a cool, yet humble, guy. Would be fun - and likely educational - to hang out with him.

Nice guy. It was pretty obvious from his lack of McGuinn's name in his list of people he felt fortunate to have played with that he must still harbor ill will towards him. McGuinn was wrong to let him go.
