this was just the dress rehearsal haha. and we don't keep score. the people in the background are just handle the technology -- the music, ppts, etc. they're making sure everything's okay for the actual performance.

It appeared as it there were judges..who were rude..even if it's an exhibition you should not be talking, yawning n leaning bk in chair talking to smone,getting up n leaving..its a complete sign of rudeness towards performer n utterly disgusting.

Very Nice to see that her countless hours of practice has brought her to perfect her umi (swaying of the hips) this form is showing her pride as she moves like the flow of the ocean.

most beautiful dance I've seen in a while. The dress really accentuated it too. Love & Peace from Canada!

Such beauty and grace. The incredible costume, her facial serenity just magnified her dancing. The people at the tables in the frame could not possibly be judges. They project ignorance of such a low order that ut was just a shame they had to be photographed with this exquisite performer.

the attitude of the people at the table were disgusting.. this is regardless if they are into an emergency or important related matter they that needs attention .. there is this lady here performing to the peak of her capacity!!

As far as her costume...I make Ori Tahiti costumes, head pieces, hip heis etc.. and the long more' skirt by itself without stripping and belt is around $80 here in Hawaii from the supply store and measured, stripped and belted will run around $120 to $150. The hip hei bcuz it's natural color would be around $200, dyed is more expensive. The head piece would be the most expensive at around $350 to $400 bought custom or pre-made.

Dynasty C. They are hand made and I think 50 won't budge. My group has an elder who helps us make our clothing. I live in O'ahu, Hawaii and do Polynesian and Tahitian dancing

Anyone know where to purchase these performance outfits especially that coconut bra she's wearing or anything similar?
@larrysheffer14698 жыл бұрын
a lot of these costumes are hand made by one of the groups members or even some of the older family members.
@kailanikulii1987 жыл бұрын
Jasmine Sain Yes but they are fake. When I go to competitions with my group, we always change our clothing. We have an elder with us who helps us create our clothing which is hand made. So if you want this outfit, you'd probably have to come to Hawaii or Polynesia. I live in O'ahu, Hawaii.

@temalesiTONGANpride Usually Dancers Would Make Them Just To Have Their Own Style , But You Can Also Buy Them Which Kinda Cost Expensive ($100-$300 i Think) But if You Google For The Materials On Google , You Can Just Buy Them Online Or Probably From A Dance Group , if They're Not Using Them Anymore .

I know it shouldn't hatter that much but I think it DOES. The style of skirt used. Too often now a "napkin skirt" is used. This one..looks more traditional. Makes you focus on the hips only. Not the legs of the dancer. We (males) ARE going to look. :) And yes the dancing was great. :))
@leviticushaywood10 ай бұрын
if you mean napkin skirt, its called a pareo/pareu/ie lavalava. our people have had those for yesrs and it is traditional. if you cant keep your eyes off the dancer, thats your responsibility, not hers.
