Anita, it breaks my heart how people can be so cruel. I have not really had anyone to talk with regarding my late mother (July 26, 2020). I love listening to you share, because it helps me, and probably others who are going through life because of a loss. Please do not stop sharing, because it really does help me too! Your truth encourages me, and I'm sitting here in tears listening to you. Love you Ms. Anita!

Thank you! July 26, 2020 will be 1-year, and it still feels like yesterday. Time passes when we barely notice. Everybody that know me know that I never forget wishing someone a happy birthday. A friend called today, and wondered why he never got a message from me. I hadn't even noticed his birthday had come and gone. We are living in an world today where the days are going right past us, and we're not even noticing sometimes.

Hello, I’m glad I came across your channel, I love that you put God first and you do it for His honor. I’m a beginner(with no experience)my mom gave me a sewing machine couple of years ago, and during the pandemic she came to visit me at Massachusetts from NY and we decided to just make some mask, I know nothing about sewing, but oh wow something has awaken inside of me about doing it, is very relaxing and during this time of trouble it has been so helpful. So thank you for taking the time and giving of what God has given you. Blessings!!

Love how you share your truth 💜 and what’s inside of you 🤗. Yeah! Your sketch looked great and so does your top 💙. I think for me the top with the peplum with some added length would really suit my body shape as it wouldn’t hug my tummy and hips where I have some extra fullness 😂. I’m going to the fabric store on Friday so might be a good time to check out some new patterns that will help top up my wardrobe for things I’d love to add and wear at the moment.

Hi Chris. I love that it has options to accommodate our individual tastes. Have fun sewing your top. It's so awesome that your JoAnn's is open. Ours is still closed.
@ChrisLucasDesigns4 жыл бұрын
Anita by Design I’m in Australia and I went to our store called Spotlight which I think is similar to JoAnn’s unfortunately they were out of stock of the pattern... they’re having trouble getting their stock unfortunately. Our Spotlight stores have been open and practicing social distancing etc. We’re pretty lucky that things have not been as bad here in Queensland where I live and quite a few stores are still open and some just trading limited hours etc. I’ll definitely keep my eye out for it when it’s back in stock again. I could probably get it as a PDF but for this one I think I’d like the paper pattern.
@cristinapurdea85054 жыл бұрын
Hi Anita! I am really happy you share also your thoughts beside the sewing part. I have a question for you, maybe you can clarify in a future video. I was following your videos for beginner where you are talking about the "right size measurement" from Nancy Z. I am originally from Europe (I currently live in Montreal, Canada) and I can't understand how to corelate the sizing with the Burda patterns. In Europe BurdaStyle Magazine it's a cult. I have my subcription in my home country Romania so all my patterns are from Burda. So my question is: how is the sizing from Burda corresponding to the "right size measurement" ? Stay safe, a big hug straight from Montreal.
@AnitabyDesign4 жыл бұрын
Hi Cristina. Oh gosh, that's a great question. I'm looking at the back of a Burda-Style pattern right now and both the U.S. and European sizes are listed. I've never used a Burda pattern from the magazine. I'll share with you what's on the back of the envelope I have. I'll list the U.S. size and next to it the Eur size in parenthesis. 6 ( 32), 8 (34), 10 (36), 12 (38), 14 (40), 16 (42), 18 (44), 20 (46) I hope this helps.
@cristinapurdea85054 жыл бұрын
Anita by Design Yes, it did help, thanks a lot. BurdaStyle Magazine has standard sizes for all their patterns. just that on my patterns doesn’t show the US sizes too. So mystery solved. Huge thanks! Being also in pandemic no chance to go to a real store where I could have seen an individual pattern.😍 Have a lovely day!

Hi Anita, You are so pretty. Love the pattern. Could you show us how you sewed this pattern especially the gathering down the front and heming on neckline and bottom. Colour looks great. How do you turn the ties inside out too. Thanks from Melbourne. Wish materials were cheaper for us in Australia. How do you do a sway back adjustment.
@AnitabyDesign4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, Viddy! Yep, I'm working on a sew-along video right now. I will be posting next week. I've included a pattern adjustment to raise the neckline to make it narrower. I'm planning to do a separate swayback adjustment video.
@gerberdaisy23884 жыл бұрын
That looks lovely! Thank you for doing this review, I've purchased this pattern about 6 months ago in a pattern haul when McCall's had a sale, but haven't attempted it yet. You encouraged me! Also, could you do a video explaining what you mean by a, "sway back" adjustment.
@AnitabyDesign4 жыл бұрын
Hi Robyn! Awesome that you already have the pattern. I have a sew-along for the top coming next week. I demonstrated how to raise the neckline. I will certainly make a video on how I do a swayback adjustment in a separate video. I've already gone too far in this one to add that detail.

I agree you did an excellent job with your first or any number sketch for that matter! Obedience! I’m currently reading the Old Testament (OT) and right now I’m in the Book of Deuteronomy. The first Books in the OT focus on obedience, and it’s interesting even with God in their physical presence, people were still reluctant to obey. The struggle is real-my goal is to commit to do better, love and ask for forgiveness! I can see God’s love light in you and it’s a wonderful thing! Wishing you continued blessings!🙏🏾

Anita, do you think this would be easy to raise the neck, and raise it a bit on the shoulders? I love this top but want a hair more coverage.
@AnitabyDesign4 жыл бұрын
Yep! I'm working on a sew-along for next week and I did share a pattern adjustment on raising the neckline. Stay tuned.

I was thinking the same thing. While this look is super for warm weather, I'd like to make one for fall but would need a higher neckline so I don't freeze.

I love this pattern but it's got such a wide neckline, can you show us how we can make it a bit narrow

Amen Ms Anita💕💕💕I soooo love your reviews - they never disappoint😊 Speaking of pants, have you sewn M7726 or any of Mimi G’s pants patterns?
@AnitabyDesign4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Tamanika! No, I haven't sewn those patterns yet. I have M7726 and can't WAIT to make them.

Cute top. You have inspired me to start sewing. I haven’t sown anything since high school which is over 30 years ago. Do you have a suggestion on the sewing machine I should start with? I eventually want to also make quilts, curtains and embroider things as well.

In my research for the Beginner's Sewing Course that I have here on my channel, I found that the most recommended machine for beginners is the Brother CS6000i. Here's a link: amzn.to/2MBpfda Also, Baby Lock has a new Line of machines for beginners, called the Genuine Collection. Here's the link to their site: www.babylock.com/search?q=genuine%20collection

Anita by Design I purchased a Baby Lock. Been working with it all evening. Practicing my stitching and learning the parts. I love my machine already!!

Ah what a great video. The top is great and so is the drawing ;-) May I ask you what brand your jeans are? xoxox from France
@AnitabyDesign4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. The jeans are Apt 9, a Kohl's brand here in the states.

Thank you Anita! I asked about the jeans because I have a similar figure and it's so hard to find a pair of jeans that are a good fit! Take good care of yourself :-)

Hey I just followed you! You’re amazing! You’re a pro on sewing/ serging. I’m interested in sewing wigs and I was gifted a serger and was eager to get started! To my dismay once checked out KZbin videos I only see girls using sewing machines. They say we need the straight stitch and the zigzag stitch. My question is would I be able to remove the blade from my serger and still use it to sew wigs?
@AnitabyDesign4 жыл бұрын
Hi Shonta! Hmmm... You can certainly disengage the cutting blade. But the only way you can stitch is by using at least one of the needles and a looper. The looper on the serger replaces the bobbin that's used on the sewing machine. I guess you could give it a try. I don't know the answer.

Anita, that is a great top. It appears that you might have to wear a strapless bra under it though. Could you adjust the pattern farther up on the shoulder? Also, do you prefer McCall's patterns or do you work with all brands?
@AnitabyDesign4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ann! Yes, I'm doing a sew-along next week and I've demonstrated how to raise the neckline to narrow the opening. I work with all brands.

Do you have a video on a sway back adjustment?
@AnitabyDesign4 жыл бұрын
Not yet, but I will be recording one.
@944gemma4 жыл бұрын
That would be great. I need to alter patterns for full bust as well as sway back.
