I can't believe I never thought to sew on either side of the gathered area first and then readjust gathers before sewing them. Seems so obvious now!! 😂 Brilliant!

I'm so happy I found this video and your channel - so helpful and beautiful! May I ask your advice? I would like to add elastic to the waist of this pattern, either through shirring or elastic . How do you think it would be best to do this? Subdivide the pattern to make a waistband which could be shirred, for example, or something in the back panel...?
@SewingTherapy Жыл бұрын
Hi I’m glad you’ve found my channel! It’s great that you’re looking to customize the pattern, but I’d be cautious about adding elastic or shirring to the waist in this case. This pattern is designed to be fitted and doesn’t have the extra ease needed for shirring or elastic.

Thank you for this sew along! If I want to raise the neckline, what do you think would be the best way to do that?
@SewingTherapy3 жыл бұрын
The easiest way is adding buttons a bit inside to make the left and right bodice overlap more. If you are confident to modify the pattern, raise the neckline of the bodice and trace it to the neck facing!
@lydiaevans70193 жыл бұрын
@@SewingTherapy Thank you for this advice! What do you think about my adding a little width to each bodice piece, following the same shape and curve as the original? I think that would cause more of an overlap, and I wouldn't need to change the facings at all.

I have no idea! I tried to look it up but had no luck! My initial idea is you can just lengthen the bottom edge of Front Bodice then you will get more gathers on the underbust. Will this help?
