It was impossible to resign from being a Komsomol or any other youth organization in USSR. If you actually had a mental capacity to do that, you'd be under KGB radar 24/7. For literally anything. I remember tearing off the USSR star badge from the chest of my classmate (by accident), and my parents were called to school for investigation, questioned as if they were the enemies of the country. After that, my dad kept like a dozen of those star badges in the drawer - just in case anyone of his children did the same again. It was a running joke in our house ten years after USSR collapsed. In a soviet regime, there was no freedom to refuse. Either you did as asked, or you were the enemy of the country. Or in jail. That senator is dreaming flowers about USSR.

My turn for being a jackal… When you said over 60 court cases had found no evidence of fraud, in _actual_ fact, the court cases never even got to the discovery phase, because the people bringing the cases had no evidence they could present to judge. @boriszakharin31893 жыл бұрын
"Baby cut" carrots are the ones most commonly sold, but it's not as bad as you think. You can get multiple babies from one big carrot, and the rest goes to carrot juice and and animal feed. Plus they also use disfigured carrots for some babies, which otherwise would never sell.

And " anyhow" why on earth did he talk about carrots on the Congress floor??!!
@lemonielala30803 жыл бұрын
The way to tell if your carrot is a baby carrot or a "baby cut" carrot is to look at the center. They have a center that should first of all be in the center and secondly proportionate to the size of the carrot. However the taste will probably be pretty much the same because that is down to how they're grown. A baby carrot grown by a sloppy grower (or that has been subjected to drought at some point) will be less sweet than a big carrot grown by a better grower (or has had even watering/rain). So in that regard the name doesn't matter. Regarding price however it very much does. Kind regards, four years of garden school to be able to say a politician is bullshitting about goddamned baby carrots. 👌

Regarding the carrots: McCarthy represents the district in which both Grimmway and Bolthouse are headquartered and run the majority of their businesses. He seems rather dismissive of two of the companies that provide a massive amount of jobs and economic drivers in his district. It's pretty disgraceful. But just for fun, next time you buy carrots in the supermarket, check the bag. Where were they grown? 95% of the time it will say Bakersfield and they will be from Grimmway or Bolthouse. That's McCarthy's district and both of those companies have contributed to his campaigns. Funny to see him ridicule the "baby carrot" process, which is fundamental to their business model.
@danielgehring74373 жыл бұрын
Yeah... _except_ now nearly half the country is going to be using baby carrots as a rallying cry and it'll be 'support for their party' to buy them. Remember when Nike aired an ad that dared to suggest we all try to get along and Republicans responded by burning their shoes? Thank you for the agri-facts though, that was genuinely fascinating.
