I did see CBC TV "Hockey Night in Canada" briefly showing Stevie up talking to somebody in one of the suites as the Wings were getting their group picture down on the ice. It was a long range shot. I did not stay up long after that so if the CBC or anyone else give Stevie any more attention, I wasn't there to see it. As I recall , the announcers were wondering themselves why he hadn't come down to take part himself. I imagine he has some stoic reason to let the team celebrate "their" Stanley.

you provided me with one example. i know a lot of cheap shots took place in game 5 that the refs didn't call on detroit, and that's pretty much how they intimidated the pens in that game. we're tied 1-1. lol

plenty of crappy calls were made against both teams. of course the marketing for pittsburgh winning is way better for the league, but i noticed a lot more bad calls in detroit favour in the joe louis arena.

Fleury is still a way better goalie than Osgood. The Wings had a total cakewalk to the finals this year -- had the Wings played the Ducks, Pronger would have smacked them in the mouth again.

And why would the league conspire to assure that Crosby remains the best player? I agree politics exist within the league, but the actual people who work for the NHL (like the refs) aren't allowed to let that bias their work. Calls get blown all the time because referees are human. Hindsight is 20/20, which makes it easy for armchair refs like you to see errors and impose some kind of conspiracy theory about it.
