a deep, profound, spiritual force, all with heart unending. mr. tyner has had a gallery of greats in his ensembles on all instruments, all bringing the music beyond time. another great bassist who performed with him for many years is mr. avery sharpe. this music is life at the highest level.

McCoy Tyer's music is pure spirituality, without limits, it's about giving oneself, it's what comes out from inside, what he did until the last even when, his health did not support him and his right hand had almost abandoned him, he still had the same spirit, that spirit that can only reach people who perceive him with an organ other than the brain.

McCoy Tyner has worked with some of the great jazz bassists over the last 50 years, including Reggie Workman, Art Davis, Jimmy Garrison, and Ron Carter. The solo by Charnett Moffett is very original, but you hear flamenco-like glimpses that remind you of Jimmy Garrison and Scott LaFaro. If what some call Moffett's gimmickry sounds Jimi Hendrix-like, so be it! I like it, the musicians with him liked it, and the audience obviously loved it!

Some people drink coffee or Red Bull for an energy pick up. I encourage people to listen to this solo when their energy levels need a boost! This is definitely a jolt of creativity!

charnett moffett is very gimmicky bass player and has a hoooorible sound. i bet if you unpluged his bass he would hardly get any sound out of it.
