+Emily Walsh Now that you mention it, judging from this performance, he could use a few voice lessons. Breathy in the bottom, very high larynx in the middle and top, and overall really lacking in control

I don't think he got the song at all, and it may not fit his voice. (I agree some voice lessons, or at least coaching, would help.) Now if he had a song with all belting, which he did well, we would probably have nicer comments.

I've seen a production of Sunset with Petula Clark. While Gavin is a talented singer, I thought he took too many liberties with the song. At times, it sounded hammy. The camp aspect wasn't really necessary, in my opinion.
